User preference. If you want a smoother, less kick, quieter, more accurate bolt design get the DM7. If you want a gun that is very easy to take apart(not really that much easier to take apart then a matrix, but it is definitely easier) and very efficient, get the Ego. I personally love the feel of Matrices so the DM7 is my choice.

I got an ego7 and love it. THe spooly (DM7) seemed harder to take care of for me and required more maintenence. Where i play too it gets cold and the EGOs design works a lot better than the spool valves. THe spool valves screw up a lot in cold

DM7
+ Sexier
+ Super silky smooth feel
+ Quieter

Ego7
+ Air efficiency (like almost twice as good)
+ Very easy maintenance
+ Lighter
+ Field strip-able (the bolt) with out tools. If you break a ball you can swab all the way through the breech in 2 seconds.

I have owned a Proto matrix (spool valve, same design as teh DM7) and now my ego and they are both great guns, you wont be disappointed either way, but i do personally prefer the ego.

Not trying to bash your argument, cuz you are saying the same thing as me from the ego side of it. But when you get to the weights of the high end guns, the difference is minimal. But the field strip of the ego does make it very nice(though I just run a swab down my breach and shoot out what is left).

Yes, both guns are very light, but some people care and the ego is lighter, i just thought i would throw it in.

Oh yeah I agree with you totally, but once you add a tank and hopper full of paint you won't notice a difference.

It's more consistent, not accurate. There is a difference. For most people, they're the same thing so I'll just say yes, the DM7 is more "accurate".

But the difference in accuracy is very small. Just like with weight, once you get into the high end markers its all very close.
