I've always liked the 98 more than the A-5 because you have the choice of a cyclone or normal hopper.

The top 2 newb fascinations with Tippmann's are the cyclone feed and the flatline barrel. Both of them seem pretty good in theory, but aren't that great in actuality. Put an E-grip on the 98(if it doesn't already have one on it), and a nice barrel and forget the A-5.

Also does anyone know what the difference between a 98 custom with ACT(Anti chop tech), Response trigger, and E-Grip I think they are all seperate things, but is the ACT necessary? Is the E-Grip necessary?

The Pro has a drop forward, a decent barrel, and a double trigger over the custom. You'll probbly want to buy a barrel and trigger for the custom anyway, so the Pro would be fine. I personally got the custom because I hate the dropforward.
ACT is a really nice addition to the 98. It helps prevent chopping. By chopping we mean the bolt of the 98 crushing paintballs. Is it necessary, no, the 98 got along without it for almost 10 years but it's nice. If your planning on getting a response trigger or e-grip you'll want this or a cyclone feed system. (even with a fast hopper on a 98 you'll have a decent chance of chopping.)
Response Trigger and E-grips are about giving the 98 assistance in firing faster.
With the RT a mechanical cylinder that runs on CO2 is placed behind the trigger and will allow you to fire full-auto. When you hold the trigger the mechanical cylinder will force the trigger back to the start position and your fingers force will immediatly fire the marker again. This is alright, with no betteries and so on, but some feilds have banned it.
The E-grip (in my opinion) is the way to go. Not only does it make it easier to pull the trigger, but it comes with different modes of fire such as true full-auto (banned on all feilds), ramping modes, 3 ball bursts and so on. With the more advanced boards you can cap how fast the gun can fire and mess around with other settings (though I don't suggest this).

I just got the custom 98 with ACT and was wondering if I change out the factory bolt for an aftermarket one, it shouldn't be problem will it?? The aftermarket bolts I've seen say they improve the accuracy and life of the bolt.
I like some of the more variety of the butt stock and barrel mods for the A5, but wish they also had the same for the 98. I just ordered a 16" M16 barrel, CAR stock and m16 sight/carry handle for my new custom 98...make it look intimidating on the battlefield!
