i think the vs2 is better than the ion for a few reasons:

vs2 body is metal, ion is a plastic hunk of ****

vs2 can be cleaned with ease, the ion you need a masters degree to lean it

vs2 is more accurate

the vs2 may be metal but it is heavy-er than the ion. the ion IS made of plastic but it can take a beating. and you dont need a "masters" degree to take apart an ion you just need to know what your doing. the vs2 is no more acurate than a pistol and in all spyders just suck doggy balls in the hole with a str8 banana

heavier? are you ****ting me? are you gonna worry that a 1/10 of a pound is going to change the world? and what if some noob wants to lube their bolt? they're screwed! and screw smart parts they brought lawsuits into the sport and i cant forgive them for that

Seriously... everybody has weight preference, but i don't find the VS2 to be heavy at all. You'd have to be a great big wimp to complain about the weight of that marker. Sure the ion is lighter(ish) but you can't gut it fast and easy like the VS2. For that and only that i'll hand it to the VS2.

The ion has a plastic shell covering a metal body. It is better then a VS1 because it is electro-pneumatic, more efficient, quieter, less kick, smoother, stock barrel is pretty decent. Just get an on/off and feedneck and you have a decent shooting gun for under 300 bucks. But if you were to get a gun in the -300 bucks range a PMR blows the sky away.

ya pmr over vs2, but if the choises were ion and vs2, vs2 all the way, the first time i took an ion apart to get to the bolt i had to A) find instructions online and B) it still took the better part of an hour to get it to the bolt, clean it and put it back together, granted someone who owns one and deals with it more often could do it faster but just a personal opinion, you shouldnt need to revove the grip frame and circut board to get to the bolt, horrid design

It is a horrid design, but anyone with a little mechanical inclination should be able to do it. I can do it within 3 min. now and not scratch a thing.

yes but you shouldnt need to have a huge mechanical background to work on the dumb thing, as to why they didnt just have the bolt come out the back like 99% of the markers out there we may never know, you shouldnt need directions to figure out how to get the bolt out to clean it. i think the impulse was one of their best designs, bolt out the back, hammer assembly was all one piece, the conection between the vision board and the trigger board could have been a bit better but the thing was ridiculously easy to maintain and clean. after the impulse it seems like sp kinda dropped off a bit, like they started putting more money into selling rather than creating better designs

You don't need a lot, just that common sense to keep a steady hand and look before you touch.

ok im very mechanically inclined and if i cant just see how it comes apart, its a bad design, sure i could have just started tearing things apart but iv also never seen a board that was so tightly wedged in there

if its all together and working its a decent marker ill give it that but its not user friendly espeshally when it comes to field stripping

I'm with trbu. it's an absolutely horrible design, especially since it's a new-ish player marker.

nobody should EVER have to remove their gripframe to lube their marker. especially since you have the connect and disconnect fragile hose fittings.

man now that i think of it that could be a disaster for a new player, if their first experience with paintball is a marker thats so difficult to work on, they probably wont want to get into paintball much more if they think the higher end markers are only gunna be more difficult

and that is EXACTLY my point. That and he'll break it faster than you can say "don't do that!"

good thing they made the IonXE
But... the VS2 is still a more reliable blowback design, simpler, and mush easier to maintain (even against the IonXE).

About the accuracy thing, every marker is going to be just as accurate as the next as long as you're using good paint and have a good paint/barrel match.

Paint/bore match ash some to do with it, but there are WAY more deciding factors to accuracy then paint/bore match that when combined just drown out the whole theory. Pro's use the biggest bore there is for a reason.

smaller bore causes more friction on a not perfectly spherical object flying out if it at 200 MPH causing uneven friction on one side thus causing it to have a slight curve to that side, bigger bore equals less friction. I just go one bore over, best of both worlds.
