Ion XE vs Epiphany

Before you go slaughtering me about how many times this has probably come up, I've read through most of them still havent had most my questions answered. So before you wanna lynch me hear me out,

1st of all I cant find ne where that it tells me how many bps the Epiphany shoots which isnt a huge concern but it would be nice to know. My other concern is weight, the Ion which if im right the XE weighs 1 lb. and 15 oz. is the Epiphany lighter, more heavy or the same. Also it says the operating presure for the Ion is 180, what is it for the Epiphany. ( ?? is that good/bad ?? what does that mean? ) My other concern is that ive never taken a gun apart, i dont know what im doing and would like something that is fairly basic and wont fall apart on me or be too complicated to put back together. Also as my skill improves i would like to put a beginner team together with some buddies, more than likely ill end up a back player as i am a bigger guy so i would like to buy a gun that would be easy and fun to get good with but also suit my needs in the near future, and just like everyone else in the world i would like to get the most bang for my buck.

But ive also read a few that say PMR is the way, who makes the PMR? i cant find it please help me out.

My other problem is that im fairly new to paintballing I've played only a few times and im just getting some of these acronyms down and still confused on some other topics like the difference between HPA and LPA and yes i read the sticky and it didnt get through my thick skull because im still confused, do all guns come with a regulator? where is the regulator located?, should an Ion, Epiphany, or PMR be opertated on a LPA or HPA? and do any of them come with regulators?

Because Ion XE is a Bolt out Back design, it's going to be much easier to take apart. The epiphany runs a bit over 200 (not sure on the exact pressure), they raised the pressure on that design to eliminate the problem of shootdown experienced on some Ions. Proto Matrix Rail (PMR) is made by Proto. Yes, it's better than either the XE or Epiphany. Although I like my Ion XE, and would gladly use it regularly if I had barrels for it.

All air tanks (not CO2) come with a regulator, to bring the pressure inside (either 4500 or 3000) down to either "High Pressure Output" or "Low Pressure Output." Once paintball guns start getting into the HPA only category, they start comming with regulators. Most Spyders and such do not come with regulators, but they can be added on.

The PMR is the best out of all of them, period. It's just a great little marker

So i was looking at the PMR it looks pretty sweet, now my question would be is it fairly easy to take a part and put back together? also is it a Bolt out Back design? and i guess my final question would be if the guns operating pressure is 150 (PMR) or 180 (XE) what kind of tank should i be looking on getting a LPA or HPA? does it matter, why or why not?

Yes, the back cap screws off, the entire bolt is attached to the back cap.

Get a High Pressure output tank. They'll either one work on LPA, but with HPA, less chance of starving the inline regulator if you're using a high pressure tank and therefore experiencing shootdown. The inline regulator will bring it down to the correct operating pressure, and both stock regs are designed to deal with high pressure output tanks.

Get a new back cap while you're at it, you'll strip the plastic one very easily, even if you're careful.

Shootdown is when you're shooting, you marker doesn't recharge fast enough (not enough air if fed into the marker fast enough), and your shots start dropping off, or shooting down.

The Back Cap is basically the BOB feature of the PMR, not all markers have one, the PMR does though, and they decided to call it a Back Cap.

And I know not of the weight of said PMR.

Yes, it does, it's just a composite plastic frame that's lighter. Plus, I think the trigger might be a bit nicer.
