pcs us-5 , tippman alpha black , tippman A-5 , viewloader orion
So im looking to buy a marker and these are my choices pcs us-5 , tippman alpha black , tippman A-5 , viewloader orion. I already have the orion but i wanted to upgrade to a bit better gun. The us-5 is by far the cheapest one (68$)that i just mentioned. The alpha black is like twice the price (130$) but it looks cool and i wondered if the perfomance was much better ? The A-5 would be a possibility even tough i would much rather not since its alot more expensive. I play woodsball in very dense forest so i am less concerned about balls per second , i am more concerned about accuracy and fps.
Also a question on the side, my friend has a tippman 98 custom , and shot me from over 30 feet yesterday while i was wearing 3 layers and my shoulder is still swollen , is it because the fps is too high ?

definitely go with a tippmann marker. you can beat the living hell out of them and they will still run perfectly. on that note, the 98 custom is probably your best choice. but if you're dead set on the a5 or alpha black, i would say a5. although the alpha black looks a lot better, the a5 offers more upgrade options at this time. internally, all 3 markers are basically the same and with the right barrel and user will all be as accurate as the next.
as for fps, the standard for all of paintball is between 250 and 300 fps, regardless of which marker is shooting the paintball. if your marker is properly maintained there will be no problem with achieving this speed.
as for your friend shooting you, the problem may have been that his velocity was set too high, but sometimes you just get bruised...just this weekend i came home with over 14 bruises on me, it just happens

its because i can get the alpha black with a X-ray mask , loader and Co2 for the same price as only the a5. This would kind of be my first marker since i only used the orion once. If i wasnt going to customize it at all would the 98 custom still be the best bet ?

the a5 is more expensive because you pay for the cyclone feed system, which has received mixed reviews, and it is easier to strip down to clean...however, because all of the tippmann markers are basically the same internally, the 98 custom is sill just as good technically as the a5 or the alpha black. it is also less expensive leaving you more cash to get a good mask (a necessary investment), a new loader and co2 tank

well the thing is that i got offered an alpha black kit that comes with X-ray mask (supposed to be anti-fog but they cost 15$ on ebay so im not getting my hopes up) also comes with CO2 and loader. For 130$ canadian (paintball guns are way more expensive up here since i don't think they are allowed to cross the border. And i can't find a tippman 98 custom for a good price.

That's a good deal. You can always ditch the mask and get a different one. the us army markers are a tippman stuffed inside a mil-sim look. Better hope you want that look thouhg because these things are big and bulky and would be horrid for speedball play.
All markers can have the same accuracy. it depends on what paint you shoot(quality-wise) and the barrel.
If you use cheap paint, you'll get balls that fly in all directions.
Finally, the FPS of a marker MUST be under 300FPS. If you have no way to test this, I insist that you buy a heldheld chronograph. shooting over 300FPS is dangerous because the equipment we use is not meant to handle it. to answer your last question, yes the marker was shooting hot if it hurt like you wouldn't believe. DEMAND that everyone is shooting under 300FPS before you play with them or get shot at. To be safe, and to allow for velocity spikes that randomly occur, keep it around 270-280 fps.
