Tippmann VS Battle Tested VS Smart Parts
Ok, im looking for a new marker(duh) and these are the makes i have considered: The BT4 Line by Battle Tested( see my post "anyone know about BT's?" in paintball chat), the tippmann A5 or X7 line, or the Smart parts SP1. Im looking for a woodsball/scenario gun and dont really want to spend over 300-350 on a marker. I could if its a really good gun, but it has to be REALLY GOOD!!! I dont play much but im looking at getting serious into woodsball/scenarioball. My last was an ancient second hand 98 and it broke( which says how old it is).
p.s.-looks and accuracy are important. I really dont need a 15+ bps marker, and im cool w/ hauling a gun under 10 lbs.

I'd go sp1. It's faster than the others unless you dump 3-4x the price of the sp-1 into the tippman or BT. None of them have eyes, so a low force bolt is better than nothing. Cheaper, faster, yeah, definitely SP-1.

you dont' use a scope. paintballs aren't near accurate enough.

what about like a reflex sight or somthing. I just hate having to fire 10 times trying to walk the rounds to my target
oh yea, one more thing,is a tippmann x7 low profile hopper compatible w/ this marker(ive heard they're not usualy very customisable)

It should only take 1-2 at most.

My friend just used his graduation money and got a BT4 banshee. Its really cool looking, and the clip is an expansion chamber. Which means you'll get more shots for your co2. A good price is 280. The stock has a small storage chamber in it, and the sight rail is adjustable. Though only get if you can get/have a remote line, as with the stock there a co2 tank will be hefty.

I'd actualyl suggest a US army paintball marker. After holding one, I've become fond of them if youre' going to mil-sim route.

I never said anything about smart parts in that post. It jsut seems he's interested in the mil-sim look and I know that US army markers do an amazing job at doing just that

I'd have nothing against Tippmans if they weren't double the price of what they're worth. You can get FAR superior guns for cheaper, such as in this case. If a BT-4 cost about $120, it would be worth it, since you could egrip it for only SLIGHTLY more than the cost of a SP-1. BUT, they don't. If you want to waste money, buy a Tippman. If you want something that gives you something even close to resembling value for your money, go with the SP-1.

I just bought my wife a BT4 for $129 new from the proshop. The basic BT4 is cheaper than a Tippmann they only get more expensive when you buy the other models like the Banshee or SWAT or assault etc but strip off the stocks and shrouds and they are still a BT4 inside. BT is offering more for the dollar than a Tippmann and with their new TM7 it is obvious that BT is actually listening to the woods/scenario player.
My brother uses an SP1 and I'm a fan of them I love the firepower and the styling the low force bolt does an amazing job of preventing chops. CO2 performance is decent or at least better than the Ion and HPA performance is flawless.
Tippmanns whether X7 or A5 I wouldn't touch they are far too bulky and cost far more than they are worth.
If you want a cheap mechanical go BT if you need a little more speed buy the SP1 and an HPA tank and either buy an offset sight or learn to shoot without one.

What about upgrades? Iv read some reviews that say the SP1 is very hard to find upgrade parts for.
Fact or Fiction?
One more thing, this marker is compatible w/ CO2 and HPA. Which would be better if im using this for mil-sim and plan on using a remote.Im in a warm climate that rarely gets below 30 degrees, if that helps.

HPA is ALWAYS better than co2 regardless of what gun it is, or what climate your in. It's cleaner and more stable than co2.
The Sp-1 takes many of the same upgrades as the Vibe, since it's just a mil-sim bodied Vibe. Although if you're playing mil-sim, no real reason to upgrade anything other than the barrel. Everything else is already good enough.
