You can sure tell you don't know a whole lot about the quality of a marker. All you have to do is have a brain. If you properly maintain your gun you should not have any field maintanence. As far as woodsball goes nothing is better than a tippmann. Drop it, kick it, run over it. The tippmanns will keep working. Try doing that to any of the others, might as well throw them away.
theyre' still massively overpriced and ineffecinet. Sure they may be tanks, but that design is quickly becoming obsolete, especially with the prices of several other, better woodsball-type markers.

ah man the automag killer video! I knew what it was before i even clicked on it.
I'm defenately going to try all those things when mine gets here tomorrow in the mail
That's because I specifically said, the battery portion of a hybrid is innovative...not the hybrid itself. Battery powered automobiles are still rare enough that it's still innovative, even if hybrids aren't the first. Doesn't matter the mileage it gets, the battery portion is the innovative part, since before the 80's, it had never been done, and even when hybrids started being introduced, it was rare as rocs teeth.
So you're saying diesel engines were innovative? They're not. They use a different fuel, they use a completely different way of burning fuel, but guess what, they weren't innovative. Just a slightly different way of doing the same thing. Making power out of a liquid fuel to move an automobile. Now do you understand my point? co2 and propane are different...but they're both compressed gasses attached via a tank that the marker then uses to propel a paintball. I's the same thing, with a slightly different way of accomplishing it. It's NOT innovative.
And no, I don't consider semi-auto's inherently BETTER. I prefer them, yes, they're faster, yes, but better, no. I consider it an innovation since it DRASTICALLY altered the very concept of the game, how it was played, and everything else. And it completely changed how markers (those that went semi-auto) were desiged. No longer were they a single hollow tube with a hammer/valve...they were much more complex, bigger, heavier, etc. Nothing else in paintball has truly done that.
no longer were they a single holow tube with a hammer and valve, they were two hollow tubes with a hammer and valve in one, makeing them larger and its not like the first semi markers were lighter than the pumps they were replacing
o and you clarly didnt read close enoufgh or at least understand what crawdaddy was saying about the diesel engines, you were saying that the battery portion of a hybrid is the innovation (which doesnt make sence but whatever) when infact diesel powered submarines have been using that same idea for decades, having both an fuel powered engine and a battry powered motor in a vehicle has been done before. as for the batteries, saying "the battery is the innovative part" makes it sound like putting a battry in a car is a new idea a)its not and b) before gas was readily avalibe some of the first delivery trucks were battery powered, so the real innovation in hybrids comes in the milage they get, all the pieces of technology that make them up have been around for a long time, i ask you how many cars before hybrids got 40+ mpg in the city while still seating 4 people?
also your saying that the c3 is not innovation because it didnt change the way the sport is played or didnt turn the paintball industry upside down, well guess what? hybrid cars have not changed the way people drive or have not turned the auto industry on its head.
i think your definition of the word innovation is off
o look! a definition from Websters dictionary
1 : the introduction of something new
2 : a new idea, method, or device
a new idea: using propane to power a marker
a new method: using a combustion chamber in said marker
a new device: the c3
i cant get that video to work on my computer......and now im all curious

I've owned a few Automags and they can take all that abuse and more. I know you'll enjoy the mag they are fun as all hell to shoot and incredibly easy to take care of.

It's the semi famous Zak Vetter video where a couple of guys take a mag dunk it in water toss it on the ground shoot a crap load of paint at it, dunk it in water again and then take it out and it shoots without missing a beat. It doesn't come close to showing how truly durable and amazing Automags really are but it is great for shutting up Tippy fanboys.

does it work for the sp1 fans too then?

THe thing about sp1 fans though, is that they're fans because the marker is a mil-sim style that ISN'T overpriced, doesn't kick that much, and is moderately fast. Completely destroys a Tippman or even a Mag in value. Sure, the Mag is most definitely the better marker...but it's hard to beat the price of an SP-1 for the occasional woodsball/milsim rec baller.

ya my problem isnt really with the marker, it is a decent deal (personally i think you get more preformance for the same price out of a vs1 though) and it is mil-sim. what i dont like about it is SP releasing all those videos showcasing it being thrown in water and such, i was talking to the tech at my local shop a while back and he said he couldnt make heads or tails of a lot of it because (and he opened one up to show me) the circut board is not sealed up at all, so it didnt make sence to him that those would keep working in those conditions, the fact of the mater is, those videos are advertisements put out BY smart parts, we have NO guaruntee that they didnt do something to those markers to make them look like they could do all those things, personally im not going to believe them untill some outside company/person would repeate them, but some people seem to forget this and will just blindly believe anything that is on the internet.
it would be interesting for someone to put out a sp1 vs automag video and see what happens

I can't disagree, I would take a VS1 over a SP1 myself. Better overall performance. It would ALMOST be worth the price of a sp1 just to test if they'll actually do that or not.
Never actually looked at a sp1 board, are maybe all contacts sealed, like the old nerve boards flashport was? That SHOULD, in theory, make it mostly waterproof.

ya but thats like 3 cases of budget paint, or 2 cases of quality paint! lol, even if the board is sealed (not sure if it was or not) what about the conection on the battery? unless you want to hot glue that every time you changed out the battery it seems to me at least that water would get in there and short the battery conection, it would arc between the battery terminals thus cutting power to the board. i could be wrong but idk. if the videos are false i feel sorry for the first person who tried sticking their tounge in the bolt......HA!
"so how did you do this son?"
"well doc, i saw this video online and figured i would try it myself....."

It might. The thing with Tippy fans is that they are convinced that Tippmanns are indestructible when in fact they are made of the cheapest possible materials. The SP1 is a great budget marker but I haven't heard anyone going on about them being indestructible.
For any serious rec baller looking for a reliable mech I'll recommend an Automag every time it is a proven design and the fact that ten year old mags and older are still in action on fields today backs that up. There are also plenty of third party videos showcasing mags in action. They might cost a bit more but not everything cheap is a great value if you want speed check out the rest of Zak Vetter's videos the rapid firing mags aren't modified in any way anybody can get them ripping that fast no batteries required and the level ten bolt works better than break beam eyes. My only complaint about Automags is that they are a bit heavy on the air usage and can't dip too far into a tank but if your field has free fills that isn't much of an issue.
