Shocker NXT or Proto Rail

I'm curious if I should ditch my rail for a guy's shocker at the field. I've got a SP progressive barrel on it, NDZ Trigger, NDZ frame,. Only used it a couple times or buy his NXT Shocker for 200 and then sell my rail. Any input would be appreciated!

Actually I'll rephrase that. Is it more a preference thing or do you just think its a bad gun. and also, thanks for all the help. I'm pretty sure you've advised me on probally 10 guns.

It's the stock parts. To compete with most other markers in it's price range, the NXT needs an on/off and a clamping feedneck, at the LEAST. If you're buying BNIB, that puts the NXT at nearly $650, where you're in the range of the PM8, Vice, Marq Closer, Angel A1, all of which are superior markers REGARDLESS of what you do to the Shocker. The PMR meanwhile, if you're looking at an 09, already has all of that stock, for $475.
Also, the Shocker trigger isn't nearly as comfortable as the PMR UL, nor is it as easy to walk fast. Even with aftermarket triggers, it will never match the PMR's, due to location of the trigger pivot. The 2 will get similar efficiency, although the PMR should be VERY SLIGHTLY better.
And the PMR is from a better company.

Thanks, I was looking at my current PMR versus the used shocker (only a few cases shot through) for 200. Also How much do you think I could sell my rail for with the ups on it? I'm gonna try the shocker out next week if he's at the field.

Don't know what ups you have on it, but stock PMR's go for ~$200. UL'd can get $300. Nicely upgraded with a metal feedneck, back cap, on/off, UL, can fetch $350, although this is about the max you'll see used PMR's get.

Okay, I was also looking at a FE quest. How does that stack up against the shocker & PMR. Also, ups on my gun are SP Progressive Barrel, NDZ Ultra lite frame, and NDZ Slik Trigger. Also I wasn't looking at the 09 rails but, keeping what I have versus other choices!

FEP quest, if it works correctly, will annihilate the PMR or NXT. One of the most efficient spool valves (w/ Goldmember bolt can get 1600+ off a 68/4500), GREAT stock trigger (one of the best ever stock triggers IMO), the boards are very customizable (they went through boards like some people do underwear...so toss up what board you'd get. WAS had issues, after them, most boards were reliable) for settings, and fewer orings than most spools which lead to very easy maintenance comparitively.
I also personally think they're dead sexy.
Although right now my boys are both MIA. They both had the urethane oring on the middle of the bolt go up...so I can't use either one. And no replacement orings left. Got a couple kits from oringmonkey on the way though.

My twin Quests:

Those are pretty sick! They've got an 06 in green for 200 on Ebay. I'm assuming thats a good price? If the dive shop can fix my HPA, I'll either go for that one or wait for a chrome one like yours to show up. Is their much of a custom market for the them yet? The price on them I am liking because it looks like I can sell my Rail and not have to dish any extra money on one of them (used of course).

Almost no custom market for them. FEP is officially "idle", however they are, in reality, RIP. The only aftermarket parts for them are bolts (Goldmember, and someone is supposed to be launching another), boards (most of which are no longer made), snatch pins (toolless removal of internals), and triggers. However, they do honestly need very little. These markers were $1000+ markers when released. Due to early issues with QC and the company having internal issues and killing itself off, they dropped in value VERY fast. However, very easy to work on, easy to keep running, and will shoot at a level WELL above their current value.

And yes, $200 is a great price for one. They're usually holding around $250 for stock, $300 for ones with Goldmember and snatch pin.

Perfect!! I should have one in the next week or so they've got a chrome one on Ebay now. Should I worry much about a faulty stock board? I'm thinking I'll get the bolt to, install them I'm guessing it's pretty simple right?
