Good, easy-to-maintain powerlet-powered guns, either pumps or pistols?
I'm looking to sell my speedball gear and buy a setup that will be in ready condition no matter what day or year I decide to use it. Not being a member anywhere and not having much money to spend on playing means I need a setup that doesn't use much paint. I've also quit speedball and I'm moving into recballing. For that reason I'm selling my Ion and the now-un-hydroed tanks favour of a powerlet-based setup.
Anybody know any good new guns that run on CO2 powerlets? These can be pistols or pumps, and I'm looking for something that is simple to maintain and/or extremely durable/durable enough to resist porrly-performed maintenance (too-tight screws, things scraped against each other by accident, etc.)
For that matter, how expensive are powerlets?

The phantom design has lasted for years.. Same design since 1989. The only problem is that it's quit expensive. After selling your Ion setup you'll probbly need to dish out another $50 or so for a used set up.... But after the initial hit, they are very inexpensive.
As for pistols, recently the TAC 8 has been the gold standard, but I havn't been a fan. Its really expensive and only has 8 shots per co2 carterage.
You probbly want to look at a used Zues pistol or Overlord pistol. These 2 you cant get for about $100 each. So you'll probbly break even after selling your ion set up.

I found one (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1238/twins1wi5.jpg) for 300. SInce he bothered to post it in my selling thread, maybe he may be interested in taking all of my stuff (old paint, SP accessories, broken Ion, pod pack, maybe even elbow pads) for one of them. In terms of monetary value I may have struck gold. Wish me luck.
EDIT: Never mind, he's nowhere near me.
I'll keep looking for offers. Are there any particularly inexpensive ones?
PS: How expensive are powerlets? 8 shots per cartridge (if that is true) IS low. I'll keep an eye out for a Zeus and/or Overlord (but I may have to take the Tac-8 considering my options).

Your looking at getting MAYBE $100 for your entire ion set up, so I wouldn't get your hopes up about trading for a TAC
My zues gets 20 shots per cartridge. My pump gets about 25.
I usually pay about $10 for 15 cartridges.
The reason I say the Tac gets only 8 is becuase it uses a clip with 8 shots and the co2. Once you use the 8 shots you have to change the clip, meaning you also change the Co2. Your still going to end up paying quiet a bit for a used Tac 8.
I used to get 20 out of my Zues G2 (I sold it recently), I get anywhere from 30 to 45 on my Phantom(s).
With Phantoms, you'll get more shots out of a drop out changer, followed by back bottle, you'll get the least with a verticle air setup, but not much less.
What about a Pump Pistol? Stay away from the typical paintball pistols most are basically cut down Spyders if you want to play limited paint go with a pump. You can find PGPs fairly cheap and there are lots of other cheap pumps out there like Mavericks and Tracers you can find for around $100. CO2 powerlets aka 12 grams are actually more expensive than CO2 fills you can find them for around $.50 a piece and on a typical pump expect around 25 to 30 usable shots. The number of shots will vary based on outside temperature and how quickly you are shooting a slow rof and a warm day always means more shots. If you want to save money buy a cheap open class pump and use a 9oz tank.
