Buying a new gun... Suggestions?

i haven't played paintball in 2 or 3 years and when i got ready to play last weekend i found that my paintball gun had actually been stolen. it was a 2000 WGP Autococker with about 250 bucks of upgrades on it.
needless to see i need a new gun. i'm looking to spend 300-500 dollars, any suggestions?
i've been looking at the Proto Matrix Rail, anything similar equal or better for the price?

If your thinking about getting the new pmr i'd get a used pm7/8 instead 450 isn't worth that imo.
Maybe a etek 2 ego if you like those. used bob long. Tons of markers out there in teh price range. Which kind do you like poppet or spool?

The Invert mini is good for it's price it's about 350 dollars. Another thing I have recently been hearing about is the DP G3. Ive seen some stuff about it and am convinced that it's a good marker. But I think your best bet is the PMR. It's made by Dye so its just gotta work!

Hah on second thought, I have heard much more of the G3 and all I can say, CRAP scratch that.

The G3 is a ok marker. Just ok, there are many other choices that are better.

I'm a huge fan of the Egos, I own 3, for that price range I'd definitely say go with the EtekII. Very reliable guns

1st Ego: My first Ego was a trade SL66 about 2 years ago, my primary gun

2nd Ego: I picked up an Etek w/ a star frame about a month ago as my new primary so I could use my SL66 as a backup

3rd Ego: Picked up an 05 Ego on the nation for cheap because it was a fixer upper. I had enough spare parts to fix it w/o buying anything

Now I'm thinking about using the 05 as my workhorse and selling the Etek to a buddy on my team so he can have a backup for his Nexus

Ya I know they are loud, but they just shoot so dang good!

Never could come to like them myself. Fast, but not smooth enough for me. I'd prefer a PM7 or Quest in the same price range as an Etek. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo much smoother shooting.

yea I've never tried a Quest, I've always wanted to. I noticed you have a few of them in your current markers pics.

I have a PM6, and I tell ya, I'm not a big fan of spoolies. I swear, that bolt has more o-rings on it than all my other guns combined

However I'd be willing to give the G3 a shot

Bah, G3 is one of the worst shooting spoolies around. Quest is great. MUCH fewer orings than most spools, better efficiency than most spools, and such a great stock trigger.

Quest with a Gold Member bolt is one of the best shooting guns out there, period.

I cannot find that I can argue with that statement.
