proto pmr or anything else in that price range

i am new to the sport of paintball and i am looking for a really good gun to start out with. I dont want a ****ty gun to start out with because i am not a person who buys new guns all the time and i ike to use what i buy for a very long time.I looked at the proto pmr and am very happy with what i have seen. Do you guys recommend that gun or do you know of anything better with that same price or cheaper. Thanks for your help in advance.

Just recently got to try out an 08 (I think, before metal was stock) SE PMR
Was very nice, shot great

For a little cheaper you can get an IonXE, they shoot quite similer when tuned properly, and have spare cash to go to paint or maybe a better hopper, etc.

I think a pmr is a over better marker for the price than a xe. You can find them just alittle more than the xe too.

Thanks a lot for the help. I don't want an ion because I heard a lot of bad reviews about them. Is the G3 better or worse than the pmr.

The regular G3 is worse then the IonXE

And the IonXE is not bad at all, it's bolt out back so it fixed the biggest flaw the origional Ion had, it's inability to be maintained

Used Fusion F8 with up's if you can find one

But the 09 PMR is like $440 new and the IonXE is like 220 new
I could get a rially nice IonXE running for $440, better then a stock PMR

How much is a new fusion f8 and is it good for all types of paintball like tournaments and in the woods?

Yes, any speedball gun for the most part Is gonna be good for all styles of play. I highly doubt, you will be able to find a new fusion. For the price you can find used 08 Alien Independence on Nation for around 350. Beings your new I would go with ion over rail.I like my rail, but it was one of my first guns and when i had to deal with the bolt when a oring would blow it was a major hassle. I would also suggest an f7. One of my favorite and most affordable guns I have owned.

if repairing the gun wasnt a problem, what gun would you recommend? The f8, f7, or the pmr. I would like something that is capable of being modded pretty easily meaning having lots of enhancing part for it for sale.

Sure, it's not bad at all. Throw a star frame on it and you basically have a SL66.

Definitely a waste to pay that much. You can get used Ego8 for around $550 now, sometimes down to $500.

Not really. There's been several here on these forums for sale in that price range. They're common over on the nation in that range. Also you'll occasionally see them on ebay or craigslist that cheap.
