I was wondering the difference was between a Proto Matrix Rail and a Dye DM7? You can pick both of them up for around 500 bucks so I was wondering what would be better to choose, a real Dye DM gun or the proto. Pros and cons of both markers?
The new pmr is over priced imo its just a pmr with a ul frame and some extras.
What the smart choice would be is to pick up a pm8. They are about 500 with the ul frame and are as good as a dm8.
but basically,
pmr
pros: easier to maintain
con: costly
dm7
pros: softer shot
con: requires tuning of the lpr.
id go with the dm7, balanced spool vs unbalanced spool

turn it up or turn it down like the HPR, sometimes you just need to tune it because the marker isnt shooting right, too much LPR pressure and it will be kicking pretty hard and your noid may start venting excess pressure making you think theres a leak, too little LPR pressure and the marker will not cycle properly, you will get shoot down, FSDO or both, and the noid may not seal properly and be venting air, once again making you think there is a leak. its not the most complicated thing ever but it does take a little practice to do well

iv never had issues determining where a leak is coming from, but i never did think of it as a bayonet...i may have to sharpen mine and put it back on.....MUAHAHAHAHA

PMR Cons: Its cheap, dosn't shoot as nice, can't adjust an LPR, horrible stock trigger, horrible stock feed neck, horrible stock back cap, often dosn't work, has more kick.
DM7 Pros: It is well made, shoots nice and smooth, has quality parts, and has an lpr that you can adjust.
