BL Protege vs Etek3 vs Macdev Drone

So after a decade away from paintball I've decided to come back so i can play with some coworkers. I'll be playing mostly woodsball. My last marker was a AG Automag and these three marks are catching my eye. I take it the Protege and the Etek 3 would be similar, no? How would they differ from the Drone. I know ithe Etek3 and the Drone sorta too new to tell but they're based on pre-existing models. thanks for helping an old guy out.

The guns that you are looking at are poppet valves. They will all shoot similar, get great air efficency, and they will be as fast as you need.

The Etek 3 will be a soild marker just like the Etek 2. I am going to suggest that one over the others for that reason.

The drone is similar to the Droid, which I've never been a fan of. They have a really complicated bolt train system. Not that it's impossible to figure out but i just am not a fan.

As for the protege I also like that marker, but it is older than the etek 3.

I'd take the Drone for the same reason that Kaz dislikes it. It's similarities to the Droid endeer it to me. I've never been a fan of Intimidators, which the Protoge and Etek3 are both very much just modern Intimidators.

I've owned a Protege, a Droid, and a lot of Egos. Droid all the way.

The maintenance will be more than the others, but it's far from difficult.

Thanks everyone for the replies. When you say more maintenance with the Drone what is more involved? More O-rings? Also will the Drone be a bit more quieter? Between the three or really two different styles which is mre efficient? Thanks

The ego/protege will be slightly more efficent.

The Drone uses more o-rings which equals more maintance. Thats not the reason i dislike it. I dislike it because the bolt train is well... different i guess. I'm used to dyes and quests where it is simple i guess haha

YouTube - TechPB Supergun Show - Macdev Droid Part 2
This is what I'm talking about. At 1 min in he takes out the bolt train. Also I have to say that I'm not a big fan of tech pb, this is just the only vid i could find of the bolt train of the droid.

Heres a vid on the drone

I just don't like unscrew the bolt apart.
