I am new (played once about 3 years ago) and my roomates play, so I am wanting to get a set-up to play with them. They said Tippmann but on here most people are saying the Smart Parts SP-1 is better and then a few people say the Vibe is better with the Blackheart upgrade than the SP-1 is. Which would be better, I will get the upgrade if it helps alot. Also if you recomend a different gun, go ahead and tell me, but tell me why. I don't think there is anywhere around here for HPA, so it would probably be CO2.

Personally, I like the Tippmann 98 custom. If you get one of them, check out ebay. Never buy a Tippmann new. WAY overpriced. As far as the SP-1, if your wanting a good lookin woodsball gun, it's pretty good. Of the SP-1 or the Vibe, I'd go with the Vibe. Blackheart Vibe is pretty good, but the Blackheart board is optional. It's a nice upgrade, but it's not needed. Here's what you need to get (in order).

1. Good mask
2. Good gun (considering you're going to using CO2, get the gun next. If you were going to be using HPA, you'd need to get a tank before you get a gun.)
3. Good hopper
4. Then just go to walmart and pick up a 20 oz. CO2 tank

I say Vibe or 98 custom. I'd check out Ebay for them both and see what you can find.

vibe. Internally, SP-1 and Vibe are the same. But the Vibe has a double finger trigger that the SP-1 doesn't, and is slightly lighter since it's not in a mil-simmish shell.

If you were to put a double finger trigger on the SP-1, there is NO performance difference from a SP-1 and Vibe, they're the same marker inside, only the body and trigger is different.

Either IMO is light years better performance than any Tippmann ever made.

I will get the double finger update for the SP-1 if I get it, but I was looking on Smart Parts website and it only shows the blackheart update for the SP-8 and EOS, not the Vibe or SP-1. Have they just not updated their site or is it not available for them now?

It's available for them. They must not update their site that much.
