How smooth and loud will a G6R be compared to a DM marker and an EGO? I've shot an EGO or two and didn't find them too bad, although I did like the smothness of my DM more.

I understand that a G6R is a poppit and it won't be as smooth but I'm just curious.

I've only show an ego 11 a few times, but my G6R with a LP poppit and wicked smooth so long as it's tuned properly.

Okay I'm pretty much sold on a G6R now.

I'm not sure whether to go for a 2011 or 2012 G6R though. I've heard the only difference between the two is the ASA and board, so for the money I might just get an '11 and change up the board.

those are the only differences. The OLED board isn't really necessary but it's a fun thing to have. If you get the 2011, you'll pretty much have to buy an aftermarket board to achieve an oled board.

Also, buy a pressure tester, it's pretty much necessary in order to tune it properly. Bog Long wants his users to be informed and have great markers, and does a good job providing pressure testers for that puropose.

i'd go ego>dm>g6r

not in terms of value, but in terms of ergonomics. i just cannot get used to the feel of the g6r in my hands

G6r>dm>ego all the way here recently the g6r shot has really impressed me the only comparing poppets are the aliens, axe with boss bolt and marqs
The alien is the onlu poppet i currently own and the only really necessary upgrade is a custom anno for a beast marker
The axe has a decent shot i really dont mind it at all if it has a upgraded bolt
The marqs are amazing and really show where bob long stands in the poppet world
The g6r is one of the smoothest and prolly the most efficient paintball gun

Maybe you should do what you wrote, and actually try them out! It would be terrible if you got rid of a marker that you already like shooting for something that you may, or may not care for. Everyone has different opinions...

Is this an okay deal for a 2012 G6R? Here's the link: USED - 2012 Bob Long G6R OLED Paintball Gun Marker-Red and Gun Metal Gray

you can definitely find them cheaper, but since tmg warranties that it works when you receive it, it can be worth it to some. just make sure to pick up a pressure tester if it doesnt come with one.

I really don't care about the warranty. If its not that great a deal I'll just look for one on the nation instead.

I paid i think $715 for mine. came with a hush bolt, stock bolt, zero ping ram, stock ram, low profile pin, stock pin.
I feel I got a pretty good deal on it.

FYI unless you're playing unlimited semi-auto, 4c eyes won't do anything for you.

What's a good price for an all stock used 2k12 G6R? What about a 2012 G6R with a few ups?
