Proto Rail 2011 vs. GOG eXTCy vs. DP G4
Hey. I'm new to Paintball Forum, and I want to get into speedball and maybe try-out for a team, but the gun I have now isn't exactly entry level (carver one) so Ive been doing a ton of research for a new marker under $300, and the best markers that Ive found are the Proto Rail 2011, the GOG eXTCy and the Dangerous Power G4. Yes, I know the G4 gets bolt stick but everybody says that you can fix it easily with just some lighter oil.
Ive seen a couple other forums about this but the answers were unclear for which one I should choose.
So, Hopefully you guys can help me make a decision.
Thanks.

Rail over the Extcy over throwing paintballs over not playing over the G4. Extcy is a nice marker, but the Gardner brothers are the worst thing that ever happened to paintball. The G4 is **** (not THE ****, just ****). Rails are pretty nice. If you don't mind me throwing in another marker, I'd take the Valken Proton over all these by far. Internally milled, lighter than any of these (although the G4 might be insanely close), on/off, clamping feedneck, and it shoots fantastic.

Gotta agree with miller. The rail just pisses me off the more i touch one. The gun just feels so wrong but i guess thats because i owned one for 5 years and i hated it the last 3. Its not a reliable gun at all and i have seem quite a few complaints other than my gun. The g4 is crap i mean it litteraly is crap. The mini is to little for my hands. The proton and aura are the best gun for its price. The extcy is a nice gun and i would take it over a rail anyday.
Proton>aura>extcy>rail>mini>envy>blitz>fenix>enmy> kaos>unity prime>g5>g4>g3 spec r> g3> e1

the threshold, rev i, and the fusion series are the only markers that i have ever been satisfied with and not had to fix quite a few. i had to fix 2 g5 last week.

Yup. FX is overpriced (IMO), but is quite reliable (although the OLED supposedly is very badly laid out), the F8 and F7's were fantastic. the Threshold was really nice. I have heard of major issues with REv-I's though.

dowhutyoulike?
The hierarchy based on functionality in this thread given by miller was:
Rail->USED eXTCy->Stay at home and get fat -> DP G4
Pro's addition and ammendments were:
Proton>aura>extcy>rail>mini>envy>blitz>fenix>enmy> kaos>unity prime>g5>g4>g3 spec r> g3> e1
My suggestion is:
Used ETEK3>Proton>Aura>Rail>Blitz>Fenix>GetFat.
Ultimately it'll be up to you. Get the one that you enjoy the most that fits you the best.

Having dp fx I really have had no problems with the fx. I do prefer my mini. If I can recommend a marker try a mini, cheaper then a fx and more reliable.

[quote=tlmiller;2218678] I'd take the Valken Proton over all these by far. Internally milled,
PLUMBED man, PLUMBED. every marker is internally milled, otherwise it would just be a chunk of aluminum that looked like a marker on the outside
that aside i agree with pretty much everything said
aura/proton/rail > extcy > throwing paintballs > G# series
and the FX is probably the only DP marker i would ever consider owning, never new of course
on a side note, i heard a rumor that the G5 is coming out sometime soon? seems rather close to the G4 still

I think that was Yelo. I also think he and I will agree to disagree on that.
Just like Josh and I disagree on the Renegade. He thinks it's actually a quite nice marker that simply was marketed totally wrong, and I think it's trash.

I think the renegade is a great marker. It could use a bit of work but it shoots great.
