I'm a beginner and have no clue of anything about paintball guns, I just know I loved the game when I first tried it. I'm going to buy my first gun and don't have much money and read about some pirahnas and Tippmans.
Personnally, I like the tippman guns a lot. They are some of the most reliable guns that i have tried, and they are fairly inexpensive. If you are really broke, then i guess a pirrahna would suit you more because they are cheaper.
lol will if ur going to compare a tippy to the ts. the ts wins hands down. there getting harder and harder to find so u should get it while u can. plus if u get the ones with the splash paint on it . u can show it off to ur buddys

Not apples and oranges, they are both paintball markers, the fact that one has an e-frame is simply a feature of the marker. If you want an electronic marker it is a pro, if not it is a con. If you are on a tight budget the higher price of the piranha is a con and the lower price of the tippman is a pro. The fact that you are considering the more expensive piranha insinuates that you are willing to pay for it, and most people would probably lean towards the piranha because of the e-frame and other features. We can't choose for you, read up on the features of each and decide which one is better for you.
Edit: since this is the gun comparison forum, I would take the piranha hands down.

I had a tippmann 98c and i have to say that gun is pretty tuff. I can remember one of my friends throwing his and it still shot. Its one strong marker i'll tell u that much

The piranah is gonna perform better because of the reg and the storm but its more expensive than the tippmann. If money isnt a concern go with the piranah.

Okay you win.
Ditto on taking the Piranha though. I didn't realize I forgot to post which I preferred.

It really depends on what you wanna use it for. If you're going for arena-style play, I'd grab the Piranha. Already got a handfull of ups that you'd want to get, and it plays better for snap-shooting, and the like.
If your angle is more wood's-ball, I'd prefer the tippy. You can dirty it up pretty good, and it'll still play through. It's a little on the long side, but you can also site your target straight down the barrel, and the farther-up foregrip will give you a minescule accuracy boost, since there's less room for unintentional pivoting.
Also has the flatline barrel upgrade available. A wood-ball must-have, for tippy owners, though not quite as helpful in speedball.
What type of paintball do you play? If you play woodsball, then if you ever fall, smack your gun on a rock, let it roll for a little bit, get up and dash behind a tree and slam the gun into the tree. Well you're going to wish you had a Tippman. They can be brutalized to no end and they work beautifully. Now if you had done that with the Piranha, well there will be a trail of parts leading back to the origin of that ordeal. And the moral of that story is... get a tippman.

I've never seen a stacked tube blowback of any sort incur damage from impact except to an e-frame if it had one, and the barrel.
If you can't oil your O-rings and clean your marker every once in a while, and you abuse your marker to the point where it warrants having to buy a Tippman 98 because of the "durability" argument, then maybe paintball isn't the sport for you.
