Tril series is nice that it comes out of the box even more tuned than typical wgps and work perfectly without the serious need to do anything to it, cept maybe shorten the trig pull and retime it. But going by Madcocker's motto, "Dedicated to the Autococker, most customizable paintball gun ever . . . " the Trils can be upgraded like any other cocker but with serious moding (comeon we can mod anything now adays), is it really worth it to get a cocker that can't easily up? Just check the quote on the bottom of my sig ;]
For the 240 price tag of the pro, internet hunt for a 2k3, 2k4 vert for the same price, much better deal if you plan on getting a new mech cocker. Otherwise wait for the price of the ion to drop (likely will drop a few bucks here and there), wait for the 2k5 bkos, or do some research on the wrath. I heard a really full range of reviews on the wrath, everything from crap to a great spimmy (spyder like timmy).
Otherwise about the e-99 vs the tril, keep the e-99 get rid of the tril and buy some cheap upgrades for the e-99 like JJ barrel, derlin or anti-jam bolt, give it a radiosack 50 gram switch, and it'll seriously be a good non tournament gun. It's true that he should sell both and get a electro if he does plan to tournament but i think if hes serious about tournaments then he should be able to pick out his own gun and see what fits him best. Anyone agree?
