Jesus, what is it with you worshipping alpha?

All paintball guns are equally accurate.

The best mag is the X-Mag. 17bps
The best non-electro mag is the RT. All RTs are the same, pretty much. Except for cosmetics, and ULT setup.

Rt- 10bps

Mags aren't like cockers, with 1000 different varieties. There's pretty much only two (and a half)

Exactly what the running rodent said...

Mags come in only a few basic flavors if you will
(images from the AGD website AGD Virtual Museum). Check that out for more detailed info.
  • Classic - also called the 68 classic. One of the first Mags out there. Can run CO2 and HPA.
With these you will hear of level 5 and level 7 bolts, ANS bolts, and Twistlock barrels.
decent marker, resale is about $150 or so.

  • Minimag. Similar to the 68 Classic, but with a vertical bottle asa (foregrips and things also started showing up there.) Resale again in the $150 range or so.

  • RT -- this was the first attempt at a "tourney level marker" with the AGD RT. Very fast valve, gas through rail with hardline, and a level 7 bolt. The new style was a hit, but these style marker chopped and was heavy. Very nice lines. Resale here is in the 4150-500 range depending on quality.

  • RT/PRO -- In order to address the problems in the RT, AGD released the RT Pro. Here is the father of the X-valve, and one of the most reliable markers out there. With the further introduction of the Level 10 bolt, all chopping was reduced to almost never. These markers could be dropped into a bucket of water and then shake them dry and they would fire just as if nothing happened. Resale value on these is $250-300 depending on upgrades.

  • The emag/x-mag -- the crown jewel in the AGD family. These battery operated markers can be operated in mechancical mode and also as a very reliable electro. No need for break beam eyes or all that other fancy crap with the level 10 installed either.
Resale value is $500-1500 depending on setup and options. You can still get them from AGD, but they have been discontinued -- once the spare parts are gone, then the only place you can get them is from teh public who owns them.

  • Other innovations of the AGD line include the ULE (Ultra Lightweight engineering) bodies that took tons of weight off the marker and also made the marker more stylish.

Also to address the question of weight, the X-valve was born. Made of aircraft alluminum, this valve uses the RT PRO's incredibly reliable design, but made it tons lighter. Standard, it comes with the level 10 bolt installed.

The other innovation was the ULT (Ultra light trigger) which is an on/off kit for the x-valve that reduces the trigger pull on a mag. Some can even then with practice walk thier mech mag.

  • Lastly, AGD didn't see much of a future in the tourney scene, but saw that 80% of paintball is still rec/woods/scenario. To cater to that market, along came the AGD tac-1. This is basically your RT pro with a special body that can be used to attach scopes, flashlights, and other mil-sim accessories. Contains the level 10, X-valve and intelliframe standard. Nice markers. Resale is $300-600 depending on upgrades and conditions.

I think you can see that my love of mags runs deep. Look for more innovations in the future from 3rd party developers such as PTP, The Magsmith, and Coolhand, as they are constatly making new and incredible products to make your mag look like a million bucks.

Wow, what an in depth presentation. Well done.

Yea, look for the pnuemag from PTP in the future. It'll revolutionize mechanical markers.

Sticky??
Oh wait, I don't have to ask that do I.. LOL!... I won't as it is a poor representation of what is on the AGD site.
