Tippman 98 Custom Review

This is a Tippman 98 Custom REVIEW , SO ONLY REVIEWS GO in THIS THREAD

I have used the 98 Custom which is a good marker, if your new to the sport or just wanna play this is the marker for you, the gun is mostly metal , so if your new, and inexpericend it can take your abuse.

The marker is easily upgradable in almost every aspect, barrels, low pressure, grips, anything. I would review it as a more of a woodsball

CALLING ALL SCENARIO, this is great for scenario since you can customize to look like a AK-47 or AK-74, or even M-16 or M-4 and recently your able to make it look like a thompson or a british sten.Although the 98C dosent shoot a trillion bps, but why burn all your paint you end up surrendering for no CO2 or No ammo, the 98C shoots at a steady 11 bps.

My final review is it is a good starting and priced marker, you can customize ,

Strengths
Take Novice Abuse
Many Mods
Looks cool
Hopper on side
Accurate
Good For Woodsball
"Hyper Trigger" is Standard
Can handle FLATLINE barrel
Can handle Reponse Trigger
Good Price

Weaknesses
Noisy With Stock Barrel but new barrel will fix

My Score 9.5/10 GOOD!!!!

SO PLACE YOUR REVIEWS ONLY OF YOUR 98C

You forgot the dovetails make it easy to put on a red dot scope,

I give the 98C a good 9/10

Well, Ive only been playing for about 6 mos, so my opinion may not count for much but.........here goes. We play in a large field that has some man made bunkers and some wood cover so our games are a lil of both (woodsball, and speedball) . We are a motley crew with guns ranging from plastic 12 gram cartridges to A5's, Cockers, E-Cockers, A Timmy, etc. What I have noticed is my gun does NOT break. Every round one of the high dollar electronic guns dies, while me and my tippy are playing every game. I even am confident enough to loan it out to the kids (12 yrs old or so) when they get the field. So far the only upgrade I have made is spring trigger trick and Progressive barrel. Huge improvement. The only caution I have is do not lose the front site spring when disassembling the gun. Like iI said, I'm still kinda new but hey, last weekend I took the guy with the new Bob Long Timmy out, so as far as Im concerned, players make more difference than the gun. And as far as guns go I love my Tippy.

no way does the 98custom shoot 11bps on average. i am a very fast shooter and i can't shoot close to 11bps with this gun. 16bsp on my e cocker though. i bought a 98custom for friends to use so i can get more people into paintballing. I started out with a tippmann and i totally think they own spyders. i think i might buy an A5 because they look cool, just for a backup gun with an auto trigger. Tippmann's are sweet woodsball guns but not speedball at all.

mine too, my tippmann is actually lighter than my electro spyder...

i do love my tippmnn though for its durability. ive had it for over 7 months, and although it doesnt seem like that long, its taken some very heavy abuse during that time, and it works even better than it did when it was brand new since i did the trigger mods, polished internals, and put a double trigger on it. i can actually walk my trigger too, the pull is a bit heavy compared to a microswitch, but ive adjusted the trigger down to a 2 or 3 mm pull, and some further modifications could shorten it to 1 mm. very upgradeable. i give it an 8/10, because the only thing i personally dont like is the offset feed, its akward if you try and play speedball with it.

I love my 98C. When prowling about in the woods it definitely gives me an edge. I don't have to worry about the thing when I'm crawling in the mud or scrambling through shrub. I have recently purchased an HPA tank for it and I will have a better feel for how it performs on air. I have yet to do very well in a speedball setting, but I think that may be my tactics more than my marker. It strips down very well too. Just use the manual the first time you do it.

Personally I love my Tippmann. I've had the gun for 6 years now and have used everthing from the flatline barrel, GTA expansion chamber and double trigger, to a rocket cock, madmann spring kit, hypstar bolt and now a opsgear M82A1 shroud with a very nice 18in barrel. I don't mind the rate of fire because i can still hit anyone with 1/8 the shots they took at me. What good is 30bps if you can't hit anything with them. I give it a 9.8/10

I've had my 98c pro for about 4 months now, and I have no complaints. For the price and the durability I can't complain about my 98c. I am considering upgrading to an X-7 later this year, but for the money this is a great starter gun. I give it a 9/10.
