Cockers...In or Out...

Hey guys,

I was going to buy a WGP 05 pro stock autococker. I emphasize was because my friend asked me why I would buy a cocker seeing as they were going out of "style" i guess you could say. I was going to get this because it seemed to be the best gun for the money in my price range, however i do see less and less people using cockers these days...why is that?

also cockers cost a LOT of money and have almost endless upgrade possibilities... if you have the money to invest into upgrades though you can make one badass marker

they dont want to put all this extra money for all these upgrades, exposed parts and all these parts and timing 'can' cause problems hence it doesnt give the user 100% just gas up and go like an electro. I still like my cocker tho ^^

Ions have put the Cockers into the slums. Most cockers are "out" now. The only one I would shoot is a Nexus team gun heh.

which brings up another point, cockers have some of the worst resale in pb.

it started out because guns like the impulse and BKO took over their share of the market. How wants to buy a gun that has reliability problems and can shoot half as fast as a gun thats in the same price range. Also, in terms of e-cockers guns like timmies and trixes offered faster rates of fire, more reliability, less recoil, and better eye systems.

Now with guns like the ion and diablo wrath offering equal or more performance for half the price of an e-cocker i dont see a very bright future for the cocker.

This is also the reasoning behind WGP's attempt to break into the lucrative entry-level market were cockers can still compete.

What I ment to say is that the resale and sales of cockers has been hitting a slumb compared to earliers years...obviously.

Most mechanical cockers have lost there "drive" to be a decent marker now. I don't know how to word it gar

true but cockers can still rip up fields, and low resale = good gun for little money= smile on my face

Low resale = good for consumer, but bad for seller. Personally I'm not a big fan of cockers just because of the hassle they can cause, and there slow rate of fire. And if its not mechanical then it shoots fast, but is heavier then most other guns of its value.

mech cockers aren't worth their price tag new from online stores. Like remix has said, pretty much everything on the market SLAYS the things.

cockers are sexy they are also the best sounding guns out thier, but there are better guns electros even at the price of a mech cocker thus the ION. Cockers have been on the decline for awhile.

and though they could compete at scenarios etc, mags are a better investment, less reliability issues.

my advice get a good electro and then down the road get a cocker cause they are by far the most fun guns to trick out.

Im not gonna tell you to buy it or not because I've only played with a cocker for one game. But what i will tell you is to not worry about what other people are doing, or what is in or out, and buy the gun that you want. If you like the cocker and its in your price range then get it. Just make sure you look at all of your other options first to make sure there isn't something that you would like better.

I don't think he's necissarly worrying about what gun is "cool," but rather how do they compare to the current market that is out there.

But there is a lot of benefit choosing a more popular platform, availibility of parts locally if something breaks. Try to find what is popular around you and see what guns the field you go to maintains replacement parts for.

well if nhe gonna keep the gun for a while i'd get a used e-cocker for under 500 ( you can get a real nice one for this price) and then get the mq vavle and then that cocker will be shooting like any other machine gun out there.
