Review of the First Endeavor Paintball Quest.
Note: This gun is a completely stock Generation 3 FEP Quest with no upgrades except blue lazer eyes, and a Proto M6 2 piece barrel.
First Impressions:
First off, when I received this gun off of the Nation, I picked the box up and thought the guy sent something else. This thing was uber light. The intergrated snatch grip is very comfortable, and the frame is so comfortable in my hands. The sliding function of the frame is also very nice. It can be moved forward for an uber low profile for the front player in mind, or it can be set to the back position, where the user has enough room to wrap their hands around the reg. It is also very convienent that this gun accept Autococker styled barrel threads.
Maintenance:
This gun is very easy to maintain. Just lube the bolt after every case or so, and lube the HPR and LPR every so often. Maintenance can be made easier with the purchase of a Snatch Pin. Plus, what can go wrong with only 7 o-rings?
Trigger:
The stock trigger is literally OMFG nice. I thought I could rip on my old Proto M5, but the trigger on this blows that out of the water. The Proto was tough to walk on after getting used to the trigger set up on the Quest. The trigger is fully adjustable, and utilizes a magnetic return. The trigger guard is enlarged, s you can be comfortable walking no matter how big your hands are.
Size:
It is 7.5 inches tall, and weighs in at 2.3 LBS with the stock 007 barrel.
Feedneck:
This gun comes stock with a clamping feedneck. You can buy an aftermarket upgrade that gives it a lever to tighten the feedneck, offering a tool-less tighten and loosen.
Efficiency:
I will review later when my gun comes back from FEP. It is claimed to get 1500 shots of a full 68/4500 though. Efficiency can also get better with the purchase of a Goldmember Bolt.
Speed:
I will review later when my gun comes back from FEP. However, the solenoid is only capable of 23 bps, but no one needs to shoot that fast.
