Yeah I know I bought another marker this summer but hey, I needed a backup marker.

Look and size
As you can see, the VS1 and the VS2 are like brothers. Both got the same size. Both can use same barrels, and both have identical bolt. However, the position of the hose on the VS1 makes it a little harder to hold the frontgrip (i like to hold it with my whole hand). So it feel a bit like a mini, you have to let the left hand open to shoot it, not a big deal, but I don't like this feeling. I'll surely get used with time.

Also the VS1 is definately lighter than the VS2. In a previous thread I wrote that the VS2 was pretty light compare to my old TL-X, and the VS1 is much lighter (girlfriend verified

)

Firing mode
The VS1 have the exact same firing mode as the VS2. Semi (capped at 20 bps, the vs2 is capped at 25bps) and 3 burst shot. However, the VS1 can use eyes with the 3 burst shot mode, where the VS2 can't. Also the VS1 can indicate if there's a problem with eyes. In that case, the upper LED start to blink. If that happen, eyes are still working, but the board lower the BPS cap, so you won't be able to shot at the same speed.

I did not had time to test it yet, I came back in town and it was raining so much, so I'll write the rest tomorrow.

Ok I shot it this morning, and here's my thoughts :

Precision
No as precise as the VS2. The stock barrel is correct, but not more.

Feeling
Easy to shoot, eyes are working well. I tried it with my Vlocity Jr without any problems. It shoot like other spyders, comparable to a Pilot ACS. However the stock trigger of the VS1 feels much more comfy compared to the pilot, IMO. Also the stock feedneck require a straight elbow, which isn't that great. An upgrade will be required there in the future.

This thing kick like any other spyders (Pilot, Xtra, Sonix). It is not low pressure, so it have more recoil than VS2-VS3. Also it is louder than VS2-3, like normal spyders.

Speed
The stock board is capped to 20bps : no one can shoot that constantly. But in some bursts, you can get it and do faster. I noticed that this morning. On my VS2 I had never the impression of outshooting the marker, but I have this impression sometimes on the VS1. When I do some fast burst shot, the balls got out very constantly, which means I got the capped on the board. Not a big deal, because it's still pretty fast though.

To conclude

The VS1 is a great marker for the bucks. If you can't affort HPA, then it is THE choice. It is fast, light, easy to use and have eyes. Even if it's louder than VS2-3 and have more kick, it is comparable to any other HP blowbacks (Tippmanns, Spyder classic series, Pirahnas, etc.) It makes a great backup marker in my case (always in case I cannot use my HPA tank), and should be the top choice for any beginners.

Pluses :
-Fast
-Easy to use
-Reliable
-Eyes
-Pretty light (2.4 lbs wo/ barrel, hopper and tank)

Minus :
-Stock barrel could be better
-Hose position
-More kick and louder than VS2-3 (but still very comparable to any tippmanns or spyders classic series).
-Stock feedneck.

Compared to a VS2, this deserve a 8/10.
In that range of price, deserve a 9.5/10

Vs1 seems to be ok compared to the VS2 then
I would suggest getting a new barrel and feedneck for the VS1 thought

As I suggest too. No, I won't get a VS3 next year BUT I have a friend of mine who is interested with it. I tried to tell him that the rocking trigger is worthless but he really want this, so I'll be able to write on this too

Yeh I think the Vs2 is better then the VS3. But thats just me . Alot fo people just like it cause it says 3 instead of 2.

Both are the very same marker, exept the trigger. So that's not correct to say that one of them is better. However, the VS2 is cheaper, so it is better for the price.

I just ordered my VS1 with a CORE Spyder Clamping Feedneck - No Holes. Will the New feedneck fix the problem with the old feedneck on the vs1?

Just got my first gun (VS1). Overall I love it. I have a question. The stock ball detents seem to be relatively fragile, are there other detents that fit this gun besides the Kingman/Spyder ones. If not, what is the best place to get replacement ones.

First marker ? I'd go with the VS1. It's cheaper, can run CO2 and you'll have more money to get a good mask and more paint (which is important).

The VS2 is really simple too, but requires a bit more cares (especially for the regulator).

okay thanks for the help i decided to get the VS1. I was just wondering what paint balls you recommend to use with my vs1 that are cheap, don't break, and are good in cold weather too???

Hey i just got a few questions about the spyders vs1 trigger. For some reason my trigger has a loss feel to it and it moves from left to right a little, Is there a way to fix that? I also noticed for some reason i'll click the trigger once and it will shoot 2 or 3 shots from one click, sometimes it will only shoot 1. It's not on 3 round burst either. I have tried moving the trigger back that didn't work, then i moved it up a little from there.

I personnaly love the DXS silver, but I usually use DXS blaze or bronze and it do the job pretty well.

Actually there not alot of things you can do to prevent the trigger from moving left to right. It is just the it is designed : it cannot be more thight.

Also for you multishot problem, alot can explain this. First check the battery level : low batteries can create this problem along with the board. Also check if the metal part of the switch (which is normally right behind the trigger) is not weak. It is his job to return the trigger in normal position, and it won't do it if it's too weak. You can fix it by removing the trigger and pulling the metal part farther from the switch. This way it will get stronger a bit and will be able to push the trigger back in place.

You can get a brand new one for about 140$ if you check on internet. But be sure to have enough money for a good mask (which is really important), a good hopper and a compressed air tank (Kingman strongly recommend to use compressed air with the VS2).
