Spyder vs Tippmann vs Smart Parts
Well I've searched the forum for this, and probably overlooked it. So I hope this isnt a RE.
I have new Kingman Spyder MR2 marker. I am currently debating returning it and getting instead, a Tipmann A-5, or the Smart Parts SP-1. So far most of the advice I've gotten has sujested the 3 markers are pretty much the same marker in proformace. What do any of you have to say in the matter? MR2-$130, A-5(basic)-$200, SP-1 - $150. (prices I've found)

Care to explain why you would go with it? I've heard its a gas hog, rather it'd be co2 or hpa.

spyder vs1 uses co2 and isn't created by a corrupt company like the SP-1 is. It's got all the features as well.
or if you want to use (and can afford) compressed air, a VS2 is even better.

Disregaurd my previous comment. Go with the spyder.
For the reasons martix said above, and they all will perform similar.

This will probably sound like a noob opinion, but I like the look of these 3 markers. I should probably look at performance before looks. But I thought they'd be the a good marker, but with a different look.
Plus the A-5, as I understand, has a gas fed feeder built into the marker stock. I suppose the question im really asking, is which one of These 3 markers would you buy. Any of you. And for what reason?

the A-5 is an overhyped marker. it's long, heavy, and has a hopper that sticks off the side of it. Absolutely horrid.
We're telling you what's beter than what you're looking at. it'd be a good thing if you listen to us or keep your mr2

Do you plan on playing speedball any? or just woodsball? From experience of watching people have them, I have seen several a5's break. And every time it was the hopper system. This has happened at least 3 times.
So that turns me away from the a5. The Sp1. Well, I am kinda anti smart parts, as well as many people. But besides that, this marker really isn't anything special. And I think its ugly.

Probably mostly woodsball. When testing my MR2 for the first time, a screw came out After I checked and tightened all screws. The supposed duribilty of the SP-1 is what brought into my line up, plus they claim its water proof. But if the MR2 will preform the same ill stick with it!

I did not get the VS1 because my friends, that have been playing for a while, told me it was a very bad marker. And none of them currently have it to test.

It was the screw right under the bolt, close to where the stock attaches on the frame. I do not have the marker or marker guid infront of me so its hard to explain exactly which one came out. Luckly it fell into my hand.

It will not be a reoccurring problem. Of course with every marker it is a good idea to check stuff like that every so often. Funny story, I played a scenario game at night one time and a guy lost his barrel. Unfortunately it was a freak which was pretty expensive at the time.

I have a cheap 200ball hopper, grav. fed. I've used my friends electric ones on mine, none have yet kept up with the full auto setting. So far I have yet to chop or break a ball.

Since the vs2 has eyes you shouldn't chop. But do not be surprised if you do. Especially if the weather is like it is here, pretty cold.

well, the SP1 is water resistant, and the low force bolt makes it chop NOTHING!
The upgrade potential of the SP1 is also a major factor in it. There is going to be many cool new things comming out for the SP1, and there is already the L7v2 bolt that only weighs 7.4g!!!

I like the way it looks, and its compact compared to my mr2. This sunday I'm going to a field for my first time, I'll see how my marker holds up.
