Starter speedball gun? Currently using Tippmann 98 Custom
My gun is a Tippmann 98 Custom with a 16' Barrel and I'm wondering if I should sell it and get a 200$ Spyder or something similar for better speedball play. Is the Tippmann 98 at a disadvantage when it comes to other guns for speedball? (starter guns that is) If theres not that much difference would you recommend I just stick it out and use my Tippmann until I can afford an Angel Joy (only 900$ now) or a Dm6?
Also is there a better step up from Tippmann 98 to Intermediate play around 500$?
Lastly how much better is the Dm6 than the Angel Joy?
(not sure if this is the right place for this post but didnt know where else to go)

a tippman is much too long to have on a speedball course more than a few times.
what's your budget? are you willing to buy a HPA tank instead of a CO2 tank?

I'm first playing a month in a half with my Tippmann, and have a 500$ budget at the moment for New Goggles,Halo Hopper, A pod back, Pods, and Entry Fee's/Paint/Co2 for 3 months of play. Then i plan on selling my Tippmann hopefully for 100$ (i have a 16' sniper barrel)
So then ill be buying. Ill probably spend 200/300 dollars for a gun to hang me over til i get a 800/1400 dollar range gun.

i would sell it if you think that you can get quite a bit of cash out of it.

promasters are nice markers indeed.
smartparts ions and the proto slg are nice too for the money these days, if you're not too serious about tournaments.
the smartparts epiphany and proto matrix rails are nice aswell for a little more money.
bob long markers are going for such good prices today and they rip, not too mention the resale value is high.
you can find wgp karnivor autocockers these days for good prices too.

keep the 98 for a back up/woods gun and get ether a used autococker, new ion, proto slg or if ur willing to spend a little more cash you can get a proto matrix rail for 250 new on the net, if you get the PMR you wont really need to upgrade to a new marker unless you get pretty serious about tourneys, also you can get an eggy on ebay for like 40 bucks and that will save you a little more cash than buyin a halo.

Go with what TwEsT suggested.
For an entry level gun, the PMR has pretty good performance. Very few things actually go wrong with it, and most pro shops carry extra parts for it.
Make sure you get the special edition if you can afford it, though. It will save you lot of trouble if something goes wrong with your end cap or you don't like the trigger.
