PMR vs Epiphany

Looking at new guns. Doing some research. Im fairly new at the higher end markers. I have a tippman 98 custom. Been doing woods since I was 10 and speedball since 13 with my tippman. I'm 17 now and looking for an upgrade. I'm a casual player but I am looking to get into more of the competive side. Whatever I do something I like to be the best I can and I dont want to be held back by a marker. Just want to know that if I spend a few hundred on a marker I'm getting the best deal I possibly can.

P.S.

I have liked smart parts from doing research. (Probly because im a noob at this) But can someone explain to me why smart parts is a bad choice for a marker and why their company is horrible. I just want to be informed. Thanks!

Lol, Smart Parts isn't a bad company, but their Epiphany has turned out to be nothing more than a beautified Ion.

If you want my opinion, get a special edition PMR. I have a just-off-the-line PMR that I got the day after its release. It has had NO problems with the end cap like many have complained about.

PMR > Epiphany

Get a gun that rips...the PMR :P.

As for why many people hate Smart Parts, it's because they sue everyone who makes an electronic selenoid controlled paintball gun for royalties. They are responsible for several companies having to fold and close their doors, and have killed more innovation in paintball than any other single entity. Many people consider them to be the Microsoft of the paintball world.

As for the guns, I agree with everyone else. The epiphanies not a bad gun, but PMR SE is better.

I have owned both, and I just love my PMR. The epiphany shoots very similar and is more efficient then my PMR, but the PMR SE with the clamping feedneck stock and the better trigger just blows it away. Not to mention it is Bolt Out Back.

if anything the ion is better than the epiphany... the epiphany has the internals of an ion however has some body changes which actually increase the weight and make it worst than its cheaper version. Based on your 2 choices and your price range i would definetly suggest that you buy a pmr limited edition OR a used high end gun off a site depending on where you live like paintball montreal or ebay for example as there is alot of profit to be made... example i bought an 06 ego for 435$ off of ebay and sold it for 750. with the 750 you now have enough for a new gun.
