As far as low/mid range markers go they're actually very nice. I would pick it over just about every marker in its range. Maintenence is decent, they're fairly effecient, very quiet, pretty fast, though I'm not fond of the stock barrel. I would save your money on the board and pick up an aftermarket barrel. Preferrably a Dye ultralite or a kit. The barrel will serve you better.

Jester speaks the truth but no two accounts. My rail is set to a dwell of 20(tophat mod) and an FPS of around 280 and I was only getting around a hopper and 5 pods offa 68/45. I realized when I got home yesterday that my tank can't hold pressure worth **** or the compressor I was using is highly retarded because I filled it up, then went home to see 2k left in the tank. Secondly the stock barrel is pretty decent, the only replacement I'd get is a DW kit.
Overall I highly suggest you get it. I have it and a Mini and use them both and don;t have a liking over either.

Absolute essential upgrade is a metal back cap. The plastic one will leak after a few times tearing the gun down to perform maintenance. If you can find the SE in a color you like (camo is the only ones I see anymore), get that, it's got the back cap and a real trigger instead of the plastic trigger.
I think they're nice guns. Like kenny, I have both the PMR and a Mini. I also have a Type-R. The Mini is my preferred of those, because there are FAR fewer orings on the Mini than the PMR. But overall, they are very similar shooting, maintenance is EXTREMELY similar for the 2, and they're both nice looking. Definitely worth getting, then reading up on how to properly perform maintenance so you don't have to post about how it doesn't work.

you may want to consider the SLG if you want an easier maintenance gun.
At the store i work at they all gave us one and they really rip.
Not to mention the self lubricating bolt. This feature really eliminates user error.
It is like having an ion without having to take it all apart to lube the bolt.

I can't personally speak about the SLG as I've never used one. However, twice in the last month I've seen brand new out-of-the-box SLG's blow the bolt apart inside the gun. First one (about a month ago) had the barrel off at the time and the composite portion of the bolt came flying out the front. The second one (last weekend) had the barrel on and several small pieces of the bolt came flying out the end. Luckily no one was in the line of fire either time.
Dunno if it was operator error or what, but I would think you should be able to take a gun out of the box, air it up, and the thing not blow apart.
I'd stick with the Rail over the SLG. Or even better, buy a used Shocker!!!

Fixed if you don't like Shockers, or hate Smart Parts, or a combination thereof. However, there is no denying that the Shocker is a great gun. Prices of used NXT's have come down recently, making for plenty of good deals.
PM6's are nice guns as well, but I'd take a Shocker over one. Personal preference though. Of course, you could always blow off all of our suggestions and go with a Luxe or an Ego8. Who needs a budget?!?! (I do.)

Yeah I am on a budget, but there are way too many other guns out there better then the shocker, any of the DM's in that price range are better, the ego's in that price range are better. The PMR is even(better with a UL frame), slg is iffy compared to it, I prolly would take it over it though.

While who likes what gun is obviously subjective (I like Shockers, apparently most of the others here don't), keep in mind what price range we're talking about here: around $275. A 1-2 year old Shocker in good condition can be acquired for that price. The cheapest Ego I was able to find (not searching intensively, but checking several sources) was $375 for an 05 and it was in OK shape. I found a few ETEK's for around $300, but their condition wasn't the best. I found a few DM5's for around $300-325 and their condition was pretty decent.
My only point being that the EGO/ETEK/DM isn't really in the same price range if you are wanting a gun in really good condition.
I think it comes down to used Shocker, used PM, and new PMR in the $275 range. Whichever you like is up to you. I like the Shocker, but that's just me.

Don't forget quest. Quest definitely superior to shocker, and can be had for the same price.
