Thought I would give my first impressions of my new EOS from Smart Parts. I was able to get some good use out of the marker on Saturday during a scenario event at Adventure Zone in Guthrie, OK.
First, based on looks, this is one sharp looking marker. (Secretly this was one of my reasons for the purchase) I had done no real research on the marker prior to purchase. I went in the local shop to buy an ION actually and bought the EOS instead. (Just wanted a new E marker since I sold my Odyssey 05 back in 2006 frankly)
The first time I aired up the EOS was during the chrony period. I tested it for velocity and noticed that all shots were below 300fps by a fair margin. More precicely, the velocity was hitting right around 250 to 260. This was fine for the day I figured and did not adjust anything. Gave the marker a run through at the target range and the stock barrel is very accurate. It is a freak and the insert that came with it fit the paint fairly well I suppose because my groups were exceptionally small.
Having the on/off was convenient and the marker performed flawlesly with no chops or any problems whatsoever. I do however need to tweak the trigger a bit to get better performance out of it. It has several points of adjustment for such a task. I was only able to get around 10 bps or so out of it stock. Although, I have slow fingers. The feed neck worked great and held my trusty Apache Attack loader on well. Maintenance was easy as well.
Overall, I am very impressed with the EOS. Very accurate and capable marker right out of the box it seems. I do think it is a bit pricey considering some of the other markers on the market now though.
I give the EOS a solid 9/10. Would be 9.5 if it was a bit cheaper. Never seen a perfect 10 marker, maybe some day.

(I figure it should do all the work for me)
