adding a board gives you little to no performance. pmr would be a better choice.
If you really want to get the g3 i'd get a normal g3 with a techt bolt engine.
DM7 would be the bes choice out of those, its a balanced spool, PMR is an unbalanced spool (dm7 will have less kick and better efficiancy) id take a used 7 over a new pmr anyday, on the poppet side id go protege, heard some good things about it

blue to black dm6
hyper 3
top hat mod
laser eyes
CP flow plug
32 degrees drop forward (yes i like my drop forwards)
cp micro on/off asa
deadly winds 14" fibur barrel with full freak
Dye rotor with speed feed
centerflag 68/4500 with on/off
on the g3? havnt shot one myself but frm my experience with swapping out bolts on other markers its not something that will make the marker 110% better, if it has lots of kick before it will have lots of kick after just not as much as before. swapping out bolts gennerally makes a marker better but its not like a night and day difference. you are afterall only changing 1 part in the whole marker, so its hard for that 1 part to make up for all the other flaws in the marker
heres the order i would put it in
DM7>PMR/protege>>>>>shocker>g3
i left the etek out cuz i dont know enoufgh about them to really rate it, i have heard some good things so id would put it above the shocker and g3 but im just not sure how it would compare to the PMR/protege

It does not use high pressure and low pressure, only high pressure. Balanced spool valves will use high pressure to fire the ball, but low pressure (usually 80-120 psi depending on marker) to cycle. Unbalanced will use the full 200+ psi to fire the ball and cycle. That's why they're not as smooth as a balanced spool, and also why they're not as efficient. However, this also allows them to be generally much simpler, and easier to work on.
I'm not talking about only the bolt, the whole bolt engine. Basically it will give you less kick and better eff. The g3 has always been a rougher spool so the techt engine helps. But yes dm 7 would be the logically choice.
iv never thought a marker that needs something out of the box to make it preform like the rest of the industry is really usefull. afterall if you can upgrade the rest of the markers out there to preform better then this one that you have upgraded to preform like they did stock has now been outdated

I agree you shouldn't HAVE to upgrade anything BRAND NEW unless its an older model (which in that case it should be cheap). Unless it gives that much of an edge, its a personal preference or a mod version (in which it was made for add ons).
sometimes it cant really be helped though, like budget markers are never going to come with a good barrel, a on/off asa or a clamping feedneck. but if something needs a bolt to shoot like everything else maybe youshould be looking at everything else first
