Question Is this a good deal for a first marker/package?

Spyder MR1 Military Tactical Paintball Marker Gun Sniper Set - Black: 191575106 Paintball Guns Store - Tippmann Spyder BT Empire Ion Paintball Guns

I've just started playing. I recently was diagnosed with a Parr's fracture in my back- in short i have breaks on either side of one of my vertebrae. this limits me from most sports just from the pain, however, i've discovered that playing some paintball doesnt hurt it. so my question is- what marker/package should i get? i've looked at the "beginner gun" threads, but i just wanted to ask what everyone thinks of this. should i go for it, or maybe get a 98 custom instead. my friend has one like this and loves it- he says with a smaller hopper like this one, its good to have pods and the package is a good deal. just give me your input and if you have any, links are great. thanks.

For what you're getting, it's a good price. About the 98 custom, I love mine, but most people say go with spyders. It's all about what YOU want. Their both good guns. But if you want a spyder MR1, that's a good package.

my friend has an mr1 and likes it- honestly i dont think he knows at all what he's doing. i got more people out and got out less than him after playing 3 times. but it seems like a good deal- from what i've heard from a lot of people is that the 98 custom is always a good choice because it doesnt break and that being the rental marker, i've realized that it works and i can at least hold of some marines we were playing with, so my question now is- is there a disadvantage of going for the cheaper of the two?

Not a disadvantage.. What you get all has to do with what you want. Personally, I love my Tippmann 98 Custom more than my old spyder. Way better. But it all has to do with what you want.

For $180 it isn't worth it

Instead, get everything seperate, you may end up spending more, but you will have higher quality equipment and have more fun playing because of it

MR1
V-Force Pro Vantage
Cheap Pod Pack with Pods
Cheap CO2
Barrel sock, and a VL Eye-Force will do much better than that package

Or for a few more bucks you can get a SmartParts Vibe
V-Force Pro Vantage
Cheap CO2
VL Eye-Force and have an even better setup for a bit more

Porf, by all means don't go cheap on the mask, if so you will regret it. Advantage's are a good and nicely priced mask.

I've heard good things about the axis, if Proto masks are any bit similar to the i4's (I assume they are) then they are certainly a solid choice.

The package ain't any good, I agree mostly in what Weever says. But! It's allways a but. If your paying it yourself, I will say buy good stuff 1 at the time! Start with the mask, buy a good mask! (Vforce Proventage og the Profiler) both are good masks. Then buy a loader/hopper, not a shake and shoot ****, but an electric one. Personally, i've would had gone for the Pinokio hopper, but it's expensive, so go for the Viewloader Eye force or a Vlocity JR. something like that, thy are good loaders. Then buy a AIR/HPO/Nitrogen tank! There, you should go with a Crossfire 68/45 og a Custom Parts (CP) 68/45. It will cost you a little money, but hell it's worth it. And then! Comes the marker! Here you will lay on about, 200$ And than it' on you, if you want a Spyder or a Tippmann or Dangerous Power(They are little more expensive). It's your choice
But this is just what I think you should do if you are a budgetballer og pay for it your self.
