Go 2k3. Is this your first gun? If so, I'd get a TES. They are fast and easy to maintain. A cocker, on the other hand has timing issues and shortstroking and such.

no i've had a couple spyders, the only thing that really concerns me about cockers is short stroking, i could learn to time it myself, does the possibility of shortstroking mean that i cant walk the gun, or is there anything that could reduce the chance of short stroking

Read the autococker sticky.

Also, you dont have to worry about short stroking as long as you practice pulling the trigger correctly. Also, you will never be able to walk a mech cocker more than 4 bps. You are just better off pulling it normal. Only with an eblade or racegun can you walk. I say get teh 2k3 and save for an eblade. The ebladeII just came out, so maybe the ebladeI will go down in price. Right now, it is 330$
