Spyder TL-X?

This is what truly bugs me:

I go to PBReview.com and the TL-X gets nothing but awesome reviews.

I come here and a fair amount of people in the spyder boards bash it.

I just want to know straight up whether or not this good would be a good gun for starters. Remember that I can always put an E-Grip and upgrade the barrel later. I don't want to spend more than $150 on just the gun.

Gas efficiency is a monster plus in my book as well.

The best thing would be for people who have actually owned and/or used the gun to comment and not just a bunch of people who love/hate spyders for no particular reason.

i dont own one, and i havent used one
i dont love them and i dont hate them
this is just me and my thoughts lol

First of all PBreviews.com is a popular review site, so the companies go on themselves and boast about how their guns are the best guns ever, when they most likely arent

Most reviews with a 7-8 rating will tell you about the gun, if thats not enough, look for different rating sites and get more input

Even though i just ordered my first gun 2 days ago (spyder victor2/ j&j ceramic) i've been looking at this site for a while, and other sites, i would say $150 for a stock starting marker is too much (unless you guys make a bunch of money than go for it)

You aren't going to see much of a difference in a $150, than you will in a $75 (say a kingman X-tra) besides maybe just a straighter barrel (...) I say get an X-tra

Shop around and look for the best deals possible (...duh)

If this was any help at all, good
If this was no help, fine
If anyone wants to "flame" me, go for it

Like i said, i just ordered my first gun a couple days ago, so you're going to want another opinion

My friend owns a TL-X and I have to say that there is nothing better than this gun then say the x-tra. If i were you, i would go with the Imagine... Nice fast, cheap gun.
You said you would buy the " E-Grip " later but believe me, you wont be dissapointed at all with this marker. However you did ask for a review so: The gun was decent, mainly the same as any other spyder. I myself have owned a spyder and wasnt mad with it and i dont think you will be either. upgrades: esp frame, barrel( cp or teardrop or jj ) , Bolt , maybe a drop , and if you get the esp frame, an electronic hopper.

Good Luck

Look at the Odyssey Torid X or Dragun TES. These are electronic markers in the same fashion as the spyders. But you will be able to shoot better, and all-around a better deal for your money. It also comes with a Reg and a Decent stock barrel that you can put off upgrading. So it's almost a 50 up free and the reg.

For a beginner any Spyder gun is ok. Just don't go out after a while and say your gun is good and etc. Get it upgraded as your performance gets better. E-frame, bolt, E-hopper, barrel, etc etc. Make sure your FIRST upgrade is a new barrel...possiably a 14". I would recommend getting any e-hopper as you won't be shooting "that" fast with a TL-X. Go for a shocktech bolt, their around $35 and their good. Also really think if you want to buy an E-frame....think about it. I would recommend buying your stuff from www.xpaintball.com, great prices!

~~~Glad To Help~~~
