mechanical or electric trigger??
I REALLY need a new gun cuz the only paintball gun i have i a like 7 year old brass eagle talon.I want a spyder or tippman.if i got a tippman i would get a 98c.But with a spyder, im not sure if i should get one with an electric trigger or mechanical.I am starting to think i should go with a spyder xtra or rodeo.i play in the woods and in fields with haybails and a few trees in it.i want one that wont fall apart and break all the time on me.thanks

link for Tippmann 98c Tippmann 98c review
btw . . .. i was thinking of getting either a xtra, tlx, or rodeo, i chose the rodeo, with tlx in second . .. . .. after i got it, i wanted a imagine (spyder but a electo trigger) . . .. it is same price as rodeo at xpaintball . .. here are the links:
Xtra, . . . . . Rodeo, . . . . . TL-X (if u r interested)
Xtra review, Rodeo review, TL-X review
Spyder Imagine '04 . . $4 more than the rodeo, but u will definately appreciate it Spyder Imagine '04 review
if u r low on funds, get the TL-X, not the Xtra, . .. . do not get the rodeo, it is a good gun, i must say, but if u r spending over $100, get the imagine
between the imagine and the 98c: if i were u id pick the imagine, it is cheaper, and it is electonic

yes
^^ I totally Agree! I have a rodeo, but Its mechanical, and i cant keep up with guys at tourneys. Rodeo is great if your a woodsball guy and dont need to worry about pbs! But if you want to play tounries I would go with an Imagine or any other Electro Spyder! They are good and they shoot fast enough for snap shooting and off the break!

he means BPS (balls per second) . . . means how many paintballs your gun can shoot per second

only thing about the electric trigger is if something screwed up, i probably wouldn't be able to try to fix it as easy.By the way, i am on a low cost budget cus im 13 so need 1 under 150 or so.

yeah, then the Tippmann is too expensive . . . . .
nothing should happen to your gun if u take care of it, you should get a warranty on it so dont worry about it screwing up
if you are really good, get the imagine, if you have played only a few times, then get the TL-X, unless u wanna own, then the Imagine

well,im not all that great considering all i have is this talon, but yesterday i went to a birthday party and got to play woodsball. i thing i would like woodsball the best. i got to shoot a couple semi-automatic guns and they were a LOT better that my talon even though they were just viewloaders and genesis.how many bps does the TL-X and the Imagine shoot???

i think the imagine is 14
i think the TL-X is maxed to however fast you can pull the trigger, so whatever that is for you

i made a thread asking that question right HERE
but to answer your question, they are both mechanical spyders, so the internals are pretty much the same.
The rodeo has a regulator, and it has a pressure guage (although i heard these are not that good quality, but i wouldnt know because i havent used any others, and they work good for me)
the rodeo comes in 3 colours (black, green, camo) while the TL-X only comes in blue i think
the rodeo has a sight rail (although the vertical feed gets in the way )
there are other minor diffs, but they are not that diff. if u want the rodeo, go for it, but the tlx does the same job that a rodeo does, but cheaper.
the rodeo looks better too i think
the imagine looks better than the rodeo though
u might say "i want the rodeo cuz it is better than the tlx, but i dont want the imagine" or whatever, but seriously, i reccomend the imagine. i got a rodeo cuz it is better than the TL-X, and thought i didnt need the imagine. now im going to get the imagine, and ive only had the rodeo for only a few months
when i was deciding on getting the tlx or the rodeo, almost everyone was saying "get the imagine" and i was not listening, but i should have

do you do speedball or woodsball cuz like 95% of my balling is woodsball if that matters. Also, would i have to buy a electric hopper for it or will it chop balls like crazy if i don't???I didn't really want to buy an electric hopper unless i had to. Can you use an electric trigger in tournies(just wondering, i probably wont do tournaments).I'm startin to narrow it down to the rodeo or imagine now.

i do woodsball, . . . . . both guns are good for woodsball, its just that the imagine would be better and for like 5 bucks more. mechs are not as much worth and are considered infereior by some when compared to elecros
you would not HAVE to get an elecric hopper, depends on how much u shoot it
balls only chop if you outshoot the hopper (im pretty sure) and i think a regular hopper (gravity fed) feeds at about 8 balls per second.
look at your watch, and EXACTLY when the second hand moves, start walking the air, and see if you can do it more than 8 per second. if u can, u probably wont be doing more than 8 bps anyways, so dont worry about an electro hopper, u can get it later when u improve
yes you can use electric triggers in tournies . . .. but u cant use full auto though. (im pretty sure)
now that u r willing to pay at least $115 for a gun, go the extra $5, u wont regret it, and if u do, u will get more back if u choose to sell it than you would a rodeo

they do not need battries, they dont run out of juice in the middle of a game
they are easier to fix, less complicated
