what should my set up be?
I am kind of new to paintballing. I haven't had my own gun yet, but I have used my friends lots of times and decided it was time to get my own. I am looking at a 04 BKO, something like a 68 3000 tank(steelie or fiber?), and an egg. Is this a good setup for me?

It's a good gun if you've played alot with it and have a little experience. But since you've never owned a gun,I suggest gettin a low end gun like a spyder or pirahna so you can first get familiar with the basics of how a painbtall mrker functions.

Good setup, but if you're new you don't need it, if I were you I would either go with a T.E.S. or Spyder Imagine, but go ahead and get the Egg or you could save some money and get a Reloader, out of those two guns I suggested I would go with the T.E.S. it is faster and has an eye.

macdaddy007 - Ignore the previous replies to this thread. Their advice will save you a little money, but it's only delaying cost. The BKO is an electro-pneumatic ram-valve marker (the same cycling system that most high-end guns use), whereas the Imagine and other spyder clones are blow-back's (meaning the bolt is forced back by air pressure after firing). There's nothing wrong with a TES or Imagine, but it sounds like you've played enough already to know that you're likely to stick with the game. I say pay a little more now for a better gun and save yourself the cost of an upgrade in 6 months.
While you can run a BKO on co2, again, I suggest you "bite the bullet" and get an HPA tank now. Almost everyone gets HPA eventually, and odds are if you get into the tourney scene (or just get a high-end marker), your next marker isn't going to run on co2. The choice between a steel or fiber tank comes down to:
1) How much are you willing to spend?
2) Will the weight difference (steel tanks are heavier) bother you?
Keep in mind that steel tanks are becoming less common these days, as fiber-wrapped tanks offer a lot of advantages. Also, fiber tanks are SLIGHTLY less durable, but if you're beating your tank against concrete, you shouldn't be playing paintball anyway.

EXACTLY what he said.. amen..
also man.. if you choose to get the bko look into a new barrel and a chaos chip. Also if i were you i would get a revvy.. Eggs are huge and too much power for your bko.. but its all up to you.. they also give u a big profile
also make sure ur tank is fiber wrapped
metal tanks r soo heavy

I Love U People. Lol A Bko New For His First Gun W/ A Egg And A Hpa Tank. Lets See, Not Including A Pack, And Everythings Thats, What 550-600 Depending On What Exactly He Gets. And He Either Needs Hpa Or A As, Antisyphone Tank, 5 Bucks Plus Labor At A Shop
A Bko Is Not A New Player Gun, Even Tho It Is Kinda A Waste To Get A Tessy, If U Get It Used U Won't Lose Any Money, Well Almost. A 04 Imagine Is A Good Gun, What Are U Fooo's Talking About? Damn Its A Pretty Nice Gun.......im Sorry If I Had Had That My First Gun I Would Prolly Still Use It.
Also U Will Never Learn To Play On A Bko, U Need To Work Ur Way Up. I Will Say If Everyone Bought A, Say Imp Or Higher Only 1 In 20 Players Woudl Ever Get Any Good. But If U Learn On A Cheap Gun, U Learn To Play And Overpower Better Players W/ A Lesser Gun, Meaning U Learn The Rigth Way.
Then When U Get A Better Gun U Are Able To Play Against Them, And Now U Have Increased Firepower, Lettign U Learn Laning And Other Tricks.
Lets Put It This Way, For Ur First Computer Do U Buy A Alienware Or A Completely Custom 4000 Buck Computer? Thats If U Have Onyl Used A Comp. A Few Times, Never Owned?
Also In Skool For Instance, U Don't Start In First Grade W/ Calculus. U Work Up To It And Learn Everything Else, So When U Get There It Is Fairly Easier And U Will Not Have To Learn How To Add There!!!!
Do U See What I Mean, Ask Anyone, A Newbie W/ A Bko Up Looks Stupid, U Need To Earn Respect In Paintball, And That Takes Up To A Year Or Two, And U Need To Knwo How To Handle A Gun Before U Have A Good Gun.
Lets Face It, Your A Newb, Sorry If U Don't Like It, We Were All There, And U Need A Newb Gun.
Hope That Puts A New Look Into This.
