i bought a halo b with rip drive and it came with a battery pack that holds 6 AA batterys, witch are (1.5 volts each) and that hooks to a plug that you can just put a 9 volt battery on, can i just use a 9 volt and buypass the battery pack?

if you only use a 9volt the halo does not feed as fast. A mod is to wire up a harness for 2 9volts to connect to the halo's 9volt connector. Keeping the voltage but boosting current.
