halo or egg?
I've heard a lot of people say they don't want to dish out the money for a hopper like a halo, or say that its unjustifiable to spend that much on a quality hopper. Now here are a few reasons why.
Feed Rate: Most people judge hoppers only by their feed rate, and this is an important aspect but not the only one. Hoppers like Halos have very high feed rates and same goes with the qloader. The halo has a spring action along with the agitation, so it will feed couple balls with the spring and then start agitating, meaning the spring always puts a ball in the chamber. Whereas the evo just feeds the balls with impellers and spins them into the feedneck.
Weight: The weight is most affected by the paintballs and how many there are, the batteries, and the feed system. When filled with paint, the halo weighs just as much as a viewloader evolution 2 when filled, but the halo holds slightly less paint than the evo 2.
Durability: The most durable hopper I've ever used was a halo. Halos are made of lexan, the stuff thats used for bulletproof glass. The Halo is the sturdiest feeling hopper there is, I can slide around as much as I want and be sure it will never fall off or break anywhere. But with the Evo replacing feednecks, lids, and battery covers have been a ritual for its users.
Price: Well obviously the evo is cheaper but in the long run the Halo will be worth the money, the new boards and replacement parts for the evo usually get expensive, also the evo gobbles up costly 12 volt batteries while the halo is very energy efficient and runs on 6 AAs.
Looks: Well some prefer the off center look of the evo, and some prefer the more centered look of the halo. One big advantage of the evo is that since its back more you can have an easier time pushing in air bunkers, and that there is less sticking out to get hit. The halo comes in multiple color schemes which is very nice for matching your clothes, gun, tank cover, whatever. They both look pretty good if you ask me.

Its not biased I've used both and tested both and stated the facts about both, these are my experiences and the experiences I witnessed. Its true about the battery doors, lids and feednecks breaking.

i agree with all of that. the only reason i didn't get a halo is that i didn't have enough cash and i needed one quickly.

i have an egg and the only thing that doesnt feel sturdy is the feedneck and the battery door. the shell feels like it wont break, and the lid feels pretty good.
ive heard that eggys are a hell of a lot lighter than halos, but im not entierly sure.
i have also heard that halos break down a LOT. again i have no experiance with them its just what i heard.

when full they weigh the same http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...hreadid=258251 read it. The only things I've ever heard about the halo is that sometimes if you put the battery in wrong then it might mess up the wiring if you get hit on the battery door, and the large feedneck which is meant to be sanded, and lastly running out of batteries. Those are the only problems I've ever heard about. And the bright paint, but I just tested shoving my black shirt down the halo's neck and it stopped once the eye sensed it, so thats no big deal.

id go wit da Halo.. its a lot more money but i think ull end up spending that much on new lids and shells for the egg.. ive got an egg and the shell and battery lid have already broken and its like only a few months old. and i think on like da websites it says the egg if 17 bps but all the tests in da magazins say that there 14-15

halos always break. My friend slid into a hyperpipe bunker and his halo wiring completely tore off. Also, they jam beyond belief and eat up batteries like mad. And it only holds 160 paintballs, so you gotta reload alot. eggs are perfect. There good on batteries, there cheap, they DO feed 17 bps (my old y board was timed at 17.5 bps 7 times straight). once you get a z board, you cant go wrong with the egg

You have got to be kidding me. Maybe he forgot to turn off his halo? Eggs are in my experience WORSE on batteries than a Halo B also halo is cheaper because you use AAs instead of 2 9 volts. I actually fit 193 GAP paintballs in my halo, you have to reload more? Bull****, you reload with 200 round pods? You only have to reload about 20-30 balls sooner if you fill them both to the top, and thats only the first time, the rest its the same. With a z board you're lucky if you hit 20 bps viewloader always over exagurates the speed. His wiring tore off? Thats bull**** too on almost every hopper the wiring is inside it, now unless he didnt have the screw for his battery door and it came out thats impossible.

and if it always jams did you ever try cleaning the eyes? takes like 5 min. just take it apart, take out the wiring and stuff, take off the old electrical tape, clean eyes with ear thing, put it back in, apply new electrical tape, reassamble. but dave they could have always looked at my sticky...
