^Yep. I've also lightened my pin now, too. Super low pin, and it's about 25% lighter than when it was un-modded. It's also real good that it's super low, cause believe it or not, I've been shot in the link pin, and that pissed me off, so now there is barely any link pin visible to shoot !.
And I won't be doing that magnetic trigger mod anymore, the Z-Frame I bought has a magnetic trigger already. Might do it in my friends frame, though, so if I do, I will be sure to take pics of the process.
EDIT: FIRST POST UPDATED.

With timmies it's aparently unhealthy for efficiency, ill try and find the thread i found it out on. Im not sure if its efficiency, but it does have negative effects. AND, its much harder to take out on the fly without being able to pull it out the back.
nevermind, i was thinking about lightening the ram. My mistake.

Lightening the ram on a Bushy can have negative effects, you need a certain amount of weight to open the valve fully, so in order to open it fully with a really light ram, you would have to up your dwell to around 15ms, and up your LPR pressure. But, if you only lighten it so much, and get a lighter valve spring, then you can achieve a balance of efficiency and performance.

Lightening the ram on a bushy is a bad idea period.
I was getting the effects of lightening hte bolt and ram of a timmy mixed up. My bad.
Lightening the ram is generally pointless compared to what you gain by doing it.

Well, it's great if you also get a lighter valve spring. And as long as you don't completely gut it/replace it w/ delrin, then it will still be an improvement.

A lightened bolt is ****ing useless, you'll take off a gram, and maybe use 2 psi less per shot. Its already delrin so there's not much weight to lose.
A lightened ram is a great idea but only with a lighter valve spring. It can make a bushy shoot like a well tuned timmy.

it's not the lightened bolt that makes the difference, it's the extra friction. on the part you cut off, there's aring that touches the insides of the marker. THAT is what wer'e trying to get rid of

You take off about 7 grams. And the less PSI comes from reduced friction, it's a more slick movement that reduces drag on the hammer by alot.
Unless you know what your at, lightening the hammer can cause more problems than good. You port and polish the ram.
