New B2k4, Assembling

After saving up enough money from working, i decided to "take the next step" from my spyder imagine to a fairly decent gun. lo and behold.. a b2k4 for $190 popped up as a suggestion and i bought the following:

Smart Parts Progressive Autococker Barrel - 12 Inch - Black
Kingman Rechargeable 9.6v Battery
PMI Pure Energy Fixed Low Pressure N2 Tank - 45ci 4500psi
Indian Creek Designs ICD Bushmaster 2004 Paintball Gun - Silver
Kingman Java Deluxe AC 120v US Battery Charger
Shocktech 3 Hole Combo #1 Bottomline Kit - Black
AVI Macroline Hose Kit - 1 Foot - Clear

Now, a few questions, going from a pre-built spyder imagine with no DIY upgrades, this is quite a project.

I have secured the Shocktech 3 into the bottom of the gun as the B2k4 didn't come with a bottomline (or tubing). The macroline is clear, and i don't know if its the black and blue things i see on your guns that goes from the screw-in to the regulator (the handle). in the AVI macroline hose kit were 2 screw in things with a pink glue like substance on them (to hold them in place).

I was slightly pissed as in the drop-down menu there was a JAVA battery and recharger, yet there is no recharging port on the b2k4 (oh.. if im really stingy about it, i can always just charge it in my imagine and use it in the bushy.. kinda hassled though.)

Also, since the manual contains absolutely no pictures whatsoever.. It's slightly difficult to get started.

how and why do i need to adjust the: Reg.. and the LPR (or they're the same thing.. i don't know).

My friend can help me with some of the stuff (most of it, he used to tourney). but i'd like to get to know my gun myself.

Thanks,
Demonithese

The macroline should screw directly into right under your regulator. After that, run it to the ASA which screws in under your grip frame. There is no charging a battery while it's in side the gun, you have to take the rubber grip off and take it out. After your gun indicates good battery by switching on and off, make sure that the bolt pin is in the correct part of the ram. After the bolt's checked out, screw in your gas. Screw that little allen wrench hole on the upper side of your regulator so it's all the way INTO the gun. If the bolt doesn't cock back, take off your barrel and screw the large screw directly under and parallel to your barrel all the way in, then slowly all the way out. Once your HPR and LPR sync up, your bolt should cock back. Adjust the under-barrel "screw" until you set the gun at about 250 psi. If it won't shoot, adjust the small allen wrench screw on the side of the reg until it does. You have to do this to change the gun's velocity as well.

"large screw under barrel"=snub nosed cap thing

I'm slightly confused... is the REG the handle where you hold it?

Also.. LPR and HPR? i have a low pressure tank and AVI macroline kit. the snub nosed thing on the front has a flat line like a screwdriver might fit in it.

where is that?

HPR=Reg=Yes, the front "handle".
LPR= Horizontal part coming out from the body directly under the barrel. (Snub-nosed thing.)

That screw is in the main body of the HPR, don't put it in too far, screw it in until the gauge on the ASA (HPR screws into it) reads about 290. You may have to fire a shot or two to see the adjustment acccurately.

Then, go to the LPR, and unscrew that cap on it (Counter-clockwise) until the bolt un-cocks. Then, screw it in so that the bolt is cocked back, then another 1/2 turn. Now fire some paint through and see if your velocity is good. If it's too low, screw in the LPR a little more.

By sync up, he means are working together properly.

where is the screw on the HPA? (and does the nitro tank have to be plugged in when i do both of these steps?)

HPR is the guage for air at 290.. and LPR is for velocity.. which i set to 290 fps?

There is no screw on the HPA. It's on the HPR. Just look at it, it's about halfway up. And yes, the marker has to be pressurized to do this (The tank in, and full). Adjust the screw in the HPR until the gauge reads 290, and adjust the spr with a screwdriver the way I described.

And demon...you can't adjust FPS(feet per second) on any gun. You adjust PSI(pounds per square inch) which is the amount of gas being let into it. That dictates how hard (fast) the gun will shoot a paintball.

hmm small leak on the bottomline. there are two screws on the side (have no idea what they are there for.. but they're there). I ahd to find the right allen size to screw 'em in as tight as possible and they still leaked a little bit.

Thanks for the help page, i got the PSI set to 300 immedietly.. DAMN!!! this gun is about 10 levels up from my spyder imagine (i don't even want to touch it anymore) hella accurate and everything.

Hmm.. I don't really understand what you mean about the bottomline leak.. I don't have any allen key slots in mine, or any I've had (Steel or macro..).

And no problem man, that's what I'm here for.

the air is leaking around the plugs. Take out the plugs and put either teflon tape or some blue locktite on the threads to stop the leaking.

Oh, plugs on the tank asa! Yeah, like Bobide said, some blue locktite will hold the plugs in there enough so they will never come out unless you force them too, and help stop the leak. Looks better than having white strands of teflon tape sticking out, too.

FIXED IT! i didn't even think the teflon tape went on that well, and then i cleared off the stuff that you could visually see.. PERFECT! if my friend feels better we're gonna head out to the field today.

Thanks everyone.

no problem. Always use teflon tape or such to solve leaks.
