Upgrade B2K or get a Promaster
ok well i know i've posted a thread similar to this in gun comparisons but i made the mistake of putting 2k5 timmy in there so every1 voted for that and i really dont think my parents would let me get that... Anyways, after summer i'll have loads of money $$$ but i dont know if i should just upgrade my b2k like crazy (meaning: new reg, barrel, board, grips, upgrading the bolt<--- i'll do that before summer, and possibly get eyes) or just get a promaster. I really have no problem upgrading my b2k but if i get eyes i probably should just go for the promaster right? i think its 100-150 to have them installed from icd. plus i know some of the guys on our local pro team (Team-F5 for any of u midwest paintball serries people) and they could get me a promaster cheap if i convinced them. what do u guys think i should do?

I believe the promaster and b2k4 work the same. If so, you will notice a performance increase if you up the b2k instead of getting the promaster. The only upside to getting a promaster is cosmetics and a lower weight and profile. But don't get me wrong you will be happy with either.

I think i should just upgrade the gun for right now. For one i never really upgraded my old gun (spyder imagine) and if i do anything i regret i would remember not to do it on the promaster when i get it later. I'll probably upgrade this one and live with it for a year or awhile and then when i feel i need to get a new gun then ill go PM. Its more about the player than the gun so i can use this to seriously get into speedball more and maybe go to some rookie tourneys with it. i'd still appreciante your advice though

I'll start by saying getting the promaster is the smarter move. Considering your b2k has around $170 of resale in it adding $150 for PDS and you might as well have just bought the promaster.
So you can either start upgrading the b2k right now w/ some valves, regs, bolts, grips, etc and transfer them over to the promaster when you buy it.
Or just buy the promaster right now.

^^^Bought it for 160 brand new so im making a profit =) but you are right the promaster probably is the smarter move, i'll try to get the promaster but my parents are pretty controlling, i can see what they'll say already "you just got that gun less than a year ago", it was less than a year ago but 9 months sounds better!

hehe, yes, my parents were also hesitant. I just told them it's a better gun platform allowing me to play better and at a higher level.

yeah ill probably say that too, with the facts that if i upgrade my gun to get as good as the promaster it will cost more and that the guys on F-5 can get me it cheap and they want me to try out for the team . thanks for the advice

Get the promaster. Don't spend one more cent on the inferior bushy.
The promaster needs very few upgrades stock, whereas yours would need a ton. PDS is a big one.
I have some old upgrades from my defiant and freestyle that should fit your promaster if you're looking for **** for cheap. Clamping feedneck, AKA SCM III LPR, vapor valve, CP reg, lots of stuff. If you plan on upgrading the b2k then you can use all of those on the B2k also.

i'm going for the promaster but ill have to wait awhile before i get it. i just got a cp twist lock feedneck for the "inferior" bushy lol. what i'm thinking of doing is getting stuff like a ultralite, new reg, and maybe a few other things to add to the bushy and then just get the promaster and transfer all the upgrades to it. correct me if i shouldnt do that but the longer i have this gun the easier it will be to get my parents to let my buy it.
