promaster, nerve... maintnence

I'm sort of new to paintball, and will be using a 98c for about 6 months (renting) until I get a paintball gun. Since this is going to be my first gun, I want one that is easy to do maintnence on. I was looking at the promaster, ICD says its pretty tough. Now I think the nerve is better, comes with drop foward and cord unlike promaster. So I want to know which is the best buy for the money, and most importaint, which one is more durable and easier to do maintnence on.

P.S. Do not give me advice to buy some spyder for my first gun, there are several reasons why I can't and won't get a spyder. This thread is just between THESE TWO MARKERS.

that cord is marcoline. You can buy a ASA and cord for like $50, it's very common for the higher end guns to not come w/ either.

both are equally durable. They're aircraft grade metal all the way through.

Simple maintnence is just that simple, and therefor plays a small factor here. It's not hard to remove the bolt and expose the eyes to clean both when you chop. As for a complete breakdown; this is done infrequently, so it also doesn't play a huge role. Both guns are a little tricky to get to the ram, w/ you having to remove the frame on the promaster, and remove the lpr on the nerve. After that it's very similar, since they are close to each other in design.

In other words, worry about how each feels in your hands, and if you like how it shoots.

when the nerve came out, it was 900 or so dollars....it is now 430...what does that tell you???

the promaster is really easy maintanance, and it looks better than the nerve, but as for performance, i cannot say....i have no nerve experience...the promaster is just as fast though....that i can promise...
