Would you consider the promaster as a "high end" gun ? Or medium end ? Or garbage ? :P

Do you guys think, since you said that higher end gun /=/ completely better performance, it is worth spending the cash for this gun ? After getting your explanation, I feel like I should stick with my VS1 for life, since it doesn't make that much of a difference :P

Accuracy is dependant 48% on paint used
48% on the shooter
4% on the barrel

Any good player will be able to shoot just as accurately with any gun shooting good paint

The higher end guns do control shot to shot velocity better, so there is less fluctuation between shots, which equals consistancy, which can for some people increase accuracy, but that's about it

That's another reason why I have yet to purchase a High Level gun
I stick with my Mid levels and mod/upgrade the hell out of them

And the Promaster is a mid level IMO

Ahh, I gotcha. See, thats very important for me; consistency.
I understand that it will obviously have a downwards curve, it's a ball not a bullet. So, getting the promaster will reduce the amount of flying balls everywhere, and have more shots going the same direction, give or take a bit for wind. Right ?

Does everyone here agree that the promaster is better than the VS1 ? Because I would hate to downgrade LOL.

More consistent? Yes, coming from a VS1 since it's unregulated it will be significantly more consistent. But single ball accuracy will not be different.

Hmm, so if he sells me the gun + air tank for let's say $80 to be safe, yes or no ?
My other friend may also be selling an invert mini soon, which is the better between the two, although I have no clue what his asking price will be, or if he will include air tank or etc.

Just wanted to thank you all again, you've been VERY helpful !

$80 for the promaster and a tank is a good deal
Depending on how much your friend is going to sell the mini, might want to look into that as well

Good deal on a Mini

Just shoot it first and make sure it works

Promaster + tank for $180 is nice deal. I loved my Promaster until the noid went kerblammo.

That's a v2+ mini. 300psi gauge.

Now, it worries me thats yours went, "kerblammo," as you say :P

Why did it do that, a gun defect or something you did ?

Has anyone here owned/used both a VS1 and a promaster, just so I can fully understand the added functionalities between the two ?

I have used VS1's, owned a Promaster. Weight is similar. Promaster is much more consistent since it's regulated. More efficient. Kicks less. Although actual speed is probably close to the same, the MUCH nicer trigger on the Promaster makes it feel like it's insanely faster.

It went kerblammo because the previous owner treated it like s**t, and then I wasn't in the mood to spend the money to get a new noid since at the time you could still get BNIB Promasters for $80, and a new noid cost about 1/2 that. It still sets in my basement waiting for me to pull the crammer out to sell.

Ahh, my new favorite member, somebody who can perfectly answer my questions (no offense to anyone else, it's more a joke than serious favoritism haha)

So, having used both, even though your promaster wans't the greatest in terms of condition, can you easily say that it is worth the extra cash upgrading, even if I only go 1 MAYBE 2 times a month ? I really want to feel the difference, I mean I'm a pretty decent player, not pro or anything, but I need something to compete with me friends, who use guns like IONS, mini's, and one guy who owns something in the ranges of $1200 :P (LOL I know it's not that good in comparison)

You can't find them anymore at that price. This was right after ICD stopped making them, and flooded the market with their leftover stock. They've since went back up in price...but now I have too many markers to fix it and therefore have yet ANOTHER marker.

Yes, they're worth upgrading too. If for no other reason because they're much more consistent due to running lower pressure through a regulator, which will be SIGNIFICANTLY nicer in the winter.

Sorry if I'm bothering you guys with the multiple questions, I just hate buying stuff and being disappointed, and I'm grateful for the help !

Do you happen to know any sites that will show me the regular price of the gun today ? I'm finding many fluctuations of prices everywhere, and most sites don't even have the gun or even brand. Is the brand (sorry, don't know it off by heart :P) great/good/decent/poor ?

Could you also please give a simple explanation to what a regulator does, & how it will affect me ? I guess it will be good for me though, us Canadians get pretty harsh winters lol

you can find them on ebay for around $100 brand spanking new from paintball stores. That's about the only place to get them anymore.

Yes, but then I would have to buy an $80 air tank, plus I've had bad experiences buying from ebay for paintballing =\
It would just be better/easier to buy it from a friend. I don't understand why he said his gun isn't that old, if you clearly cannot buy them much anymore.
