ProMaster ?

A friend of mine has a Promaster, and is willing to sell it to me, with a air tank, for anywhere between $150-200.

Is this a good deal ? He said it's not that old of a gun, and I was playing with him today and he lent it to another friend and he had no problems with it.

Thanks in advance !

Probably not

Not sure, but I think they aren't worth that much anymore

Really ? But isn't an air tank alone $80 ?

Besides that, is the gun any good ?

they're worth about $100. I've used one fora few years now and today was the first time i had issues with it. I think it was a combination of low hopper batteries and that it was 40 degrees.

I like them more than I thought I would. For $150 with a 4500psi air tank , it's not a bad deal.

As long as it's a 4500psi air tank, then sure

If it's a 3000psi tank, try and go lower

How accurate is the gun, sorry for the bombardment of questions lol.

Thing is, I have a friend new to the sport who is willing to give me $100 for my spyder VS1 with air tank and VL loader, so I'm basically getting the gun for $50.

Price aside, is the gun itself reliable, accurate, good distance and etc ?

Not 100% sure what it is, I'll ask him tomorrow.

reliable: if you take care of it
acccurate: totally decided by the paint you shoot and your barrel. The marker itself has nothing to do with it.
distance: totally decided by the velocity of the paint. Since everyone is capped at the same velocity, it has the same range as every other marker on the field.

Well, by your theory, a $50 gun should be the same as a $1000 gun.

Yea, you're totally right on here

actualyl he is DEAD on. teh differences between a mid-level and a high-level marker are usually size and weight. effeciency comes into play a bit, but it's fairly negligible.

Indeed

Any gun will be just as reliable if taken care of
Accurate if shooting quality paint and with a good bore match
And have the same range as long as you're shooting within the limits

What comes with the $1000 guns is name brand quality
Less weight
More modes
Cool features

All the extra stuff, kinda like cars

A Lotus and a Honda will both drive, just the name, style, and features

Well what difference would it make getting the ProMaster over my VS1 ? All I know was today it was shooting everywhere, although nearing the end of the day it became a little more accurate but still got massive downwards curves.

Seriously ? Thats quite dissapointing, to be honest.

I'm not that happy with my VS1, and you're telling me a ProMaster won't be much of an improvement ?

Ask if you can shoot it. you'll find the immediate difference

That's normal with all guns
Maybe he was shooting a bit low, but paintball guns do not shoot like rifles, you must arc your shots a bit when you start shooting at thing that are far away

The higher guns will also shoot smoother and such, again like cars

I bet the Lotus has a better ride and suspension than the honda

Everyone, thanks for the help

But I'm still stumped...

I KNOW ! I was so angry, I asked the guy who borrowed it if I could use it a round, he refused =\

You just told me you won't feel a difference much, except for added bells and whistles. Now you tell me that I'll feel an immediate difference, which is it LOL ? :P

I know that lol, I know how to shoot I'm alright xD

My problem was, my shots where EVERYWHERE. Liker seriously, one shot huge downward curve, next to the left 10 meters, next right 4 meters, etc etc. \

My buddies rental tippman was shooting 10x more accurate tbh

Both will shoot paintballs, but will feel different when you shoot them

I guess that's another thing between low and high end guns

You won't see a difference in accuracy or velocity. You WILL see a difference in terms of smoothness of shot, speed, recoil, and general "feel".

I actually can't believe this lol, I always firmly understood that better gun = better accuracy. Maybe not velocity, since you can adjust that, but seriously the ProMaster wouldn't have a more consistent/accurate pattern ?

I know I am sorta a noob, but is the "feel" of a gun justify me spending money ? xD
The way you guys make it sound, I should have stuck with my icon X 3 years ago LOL
