I'm using a Dye Ultralite with a .692 back on my Mini. Shoots great, no complaints. One of my friends I play with has a UL and a Stiffi. The Stiffi stays in his bag. He got it out last time we played and tried it again. It lasted 1 game then the UL went back on.
I know a lot of people are big on carbon fiber but I prefer to stick with metal.
It's all about the barrel, stiffi's suck. If he hada DW that UL would be on the nation for sale. I have used a UL plenty of times and it just doesn't keep up to par with a DW. I took out my epiphany, loaded it with month old Waly world paint(like it asn't already crappy enough), put the highest bore I had on it and commenced shooting. all in all I had a grouping of maybe 5 inches at about 75-100 feet away with that crappy paint and it not being bored up correctly, I'd love to see a UL do that.

I may give a DW a try if I ever decide to switch to a different gun. I've already got the UL and don't want to spend any more money right now though.
can i ask you guys a question?????well i love the mini and probably i dont know when i'll get one but do i nedd some king of adaptor for a barrel and what kind...?
thanxs
I'm running a Freak back .689 insert, and a stiffi tip with an Apex on my Mini. I love Stiffi I've used a plane old stiffi and my Apex Stiffi both shoot great. And quiet, I refinished the bore with some of my fine cut car polish, its like glass not one brake, and I shot through a case of 2000 Draxus house paint.
I went paintballing today and some guy had that gun with an Apex barrel and he was shooting across the entire field. About 1-15 shots would go crazy but the accuracy and distance was beautiful.. He's selling that gun too I think I might buy it.

It adds distance, but not usable. You won't get a break at any distance greater than you would with a stock barrel. The Apex and Flatlines are designed around 1 thing: a gimmick that doesn't work, but the people who buy them spend so much money they refuse to see that they don't actually help.
Anyways, just to stay on topic, BEST is an opinion. There are plenty of great barrels out there, such as the Ultralight, Pepperstick, FREAK, DW Fibur, Stiffi, Pipe, etc, but best is what you make of a barrel.
What I like in a barrel might not be what you like in a barrel, so my "best" barrel might be your ablsolute worst and vice versa.
The Apex and Flatline do what you could do with any gun by simply tilting the barrel upwards and arcing your shot for more range. But again, the ball meets resistance as it flies to its target, so if you do hit someone from 100ft away, dont expect them to walk off.
