CHI hey, finally came to the forum from the nation... yea - i've been to your website before, it's really great...

i would love to do the hi-light mod, but i dont have a drill press and the bits alone would cost more than having someone else do it for me... so i must be patient with my ion...

i've got a friend who will eventually get around to it... but it could be another few months and i'm not in any rush...

btw usin' your 'manuals' i've successfully cut the back off of my ion, and cut away the rubber... (but not sanded it down yet... still just kindof there... it looks strange... lol) and started to strip the frame from it's powder coat...

anywho - love your mods they're great, can't wait to see more of your work.

demonpoptart - the second tutorial in the list is for the people that don't want to drill holes in the frame. The RGB LED sits in the grips and no drilling is required. The tutorial is still under construction though.

ooh - but i'm too attached to the idea of drilling a hole in the frame and voiding my warranty - that = fun!

yea i saw jdmoto's mod where the light goes through the grip on the frame rather than the frame itself, that's what i was planning at first - but i think there's just soo much more style in the LED out back. and that's all i'm really going for... (with this mod)

i really appreciate your website, it's been a great help through all of my 'tinkering' lol!

I would do it if i only knew "exactly" what i was doing, i would probably screw it up and be mad. Oh and did u do all this yourself? Its genuis if you did and i love it, if I buy another frame i'll probably check it out.

Exactly why im not going to do it, a 9th grader versus a professional electrical engineer.....well i could just get my dad to help me, hes a mechanical engineer so i'll look into it in the future.
