My ion is stock other than a SP QEV. If my dwell is set at 25 and rof at 0, what can i expect my performance to be? Should it much different to acheive max rof? Im assuming 17-20 is the best I can get without further mods.

if you have a smart parts 360 qev, you could put that dwell quite a bit lower man. Mine with a 360 was at about 16 blinks from the bottom, with a firebolt it is now at 13...

ya, but 17 is the max rof for the stock board.

Yes dwell is too high with a qev. drop the dwell (down around 16+/- is about where most ions settle at) and you will...

1. yeild a little better air efficiency.

2. get better velocity consistancy because with a lower dwell you can run higher inputs.

3. it will can be mechanically capable of going faster with the lower the dwell settings.

The dwell on mine is down to 9 milliseconds. (My QEV was mean for a Cocker Ram)
Lets assume that it takes an additional 20 milliseconds before the gun is ready to fire again. So that each cycle takes about 29 milliseconds.

Thats roughly 35 balls per second.
That is assuming a ball is loaded every time and the bolt does not stick.
In reality I might be lucky to see 30 Balls per second because of the loader.

*sorry for the thread jack but this is kinda related*

Remember way back when the Ions started coming out and everyone was saying how they were mechanically capable of topping out at about 25 bps with a new board, bolt, and qev? Well I was browsing around and, using all lucky parts, lucky managed to get one to hit 32.25 bps with NO dropoff or chops. Ok, I'm done, i just thought some of you would think it was intersting lol.
