Looking For The Best And Cheapest Upgrades
WELL, their is alot to be said about ions. And of course one of the best features of them is how upgradeable they are. Now I am somebody looking to upgrade my ion the best and smartest way i can. From feednecks, barrels, and electronic boards. SO a quick post about what i should get first and what kind would be usefull.

QEV and a L7 bolt. The bolt is not cheap, but if i had only 100 bucks to upgrade my ION, i´ll spend on those two upgrades. The L7 is the lightest bolt out there.

I would say get a 360 QEV because after you install it, it will act just like the stock fitting did, so you can still screw it with an allen key. Plus, it does not void your warranty because it is made by smart parts. Second I would say get the Smart Parts Firebolt, it is like one gram more than the L7 (like that makes a huge difference ) and once again, it does not void your warranty. Ya, those two things and a nice barrel kit and you're pretty much set (except for bottomline and trigger, but those are totally preference).

Definatley get a QEV first, you can't go wrong.
A clamping feedneck and Aftermarket bolt (such as the TechT L7, Smart Part's Firebolt, NDZ Equaliazer, Lucky Stage 1), will give you great performance.
But honestly, dont start upgrading unless you have a good Compressed air tank and a good hopper (Halo B or similar)

kind of a stupid title for the topic. if you want the best parts there not gonna be cheap. so either pick the best parts or the cheap parts. ur not gonna get the best parts cheap.

i read somthing about the regulator needing to be upgraded because it looses velocity after 12bps. does this hold true or is it junk?

The Stock reg is great if your pressure and dwell are set right.so it can wait till you after you replace the board. But it's hit or miss in the quality department with the stock reg. cause i have opened a few and found metal chips and burrs in them from when they were made

the QEV is the best performance per $ spent.
I also think the stock reg is total junk.
clamping feedneck and trigger are also at the top of my short list.
after that the ion shoots and performs decently. I haven't noticed much improvement over the stock bolt w/ the fire bolt. my .02.

meh, in an ideal situation i guess... but i think you misinterpreted his question...
i think he means something to the effect of what's the best i can get for little money...
like with boards for example, he probably doesn't want a tadao board, 'cause it's $150, even though it's better than most boards, he can get a sc dreams t-board for under $100... and it'll still give him plenty of leeway on his maker over the stock board...
by the way, that's one of my suggestions if you're going for a board... that, and a qev for bang for your $$... but other than that sp firebolt and other simple cheaper but effective upgrades...
