ION and Air America Armageddon

Hi all!

Coming back to the sport after 5 years. I've been using my Armageddon system with 88ci (4500psi) tank on my 'mag and now thinking about getting an Ion.

My question is...Can I use my 88/4500 tank (w/o 'geddon reg) on a stock Ion reg or even a CP reg?

I understand the CP reg has a max input of 900psi. I'm not sure if the 88/4500 is preset to anything. Would I have to purchase a different tank?

Thanks for any help and Merry Xmas

The simple answer is NO

First thing and most important is that your tank hydotest is likely to have expired. Most HPA tanks are only good for 3 years before they have to be retested. Also a few parks will not fill the 5 year tanks after 3 years just to play it safe.

Second After sitting in the closet most of the o-rings that are in your tank have dried out so the reg will not work and the fill nipple might not work. This means that your tank will leak like crazy and/or your going to blow up you CP reg or a fitting.

Third is that the AA Armageddon regs that i have seen had a nasty habit of blowing air fittings because the reg had seized. But I would mostly blame that on either old parts or user neglect.

Thanks for the response.

I'm still waiting for the tank to come back from hydro (fingers crossed)

So hypothetically, if the tank passes and I'm able to get a fill, would the tank work on the CP reg? (I wouldn't be using the Armageddon reg)

I also noticed you're from Riverside. Would SC Village (or any other local field) not fill my tank because it's over 5 years old?

Thanks

It could be used but test it on the stock reg 1st.

As for SC they will not, unless it has been retested.

If you can give me a date I might be able to meet ya out at SC to give ya a hand.
