Well, a freak jr. i pretty accurate. Its all comes down to preferance. The deadly wind barrel is as accurate as a freak and almost as light a s a stiffi (it is an all carbon fiber barrel that used freak inserts.) That in my opinion is the ultimate barrel. And your ION wont be as accurate as a DM7 or EGO7 because of the design of teh gun. It might be close but you also need a new regulator to make it accurate plus the best type of balls.

Can you elaborate on that? Regulators affect consistancy, not accuracy. Accuracy is based on paint to barrel match, so just get a good kit or like a .691 UL.

LOL i just ordered a Trinity Sick 14" for my ION lol...

and with a paintball marker, accuracy really depends a lot on the weather conditions...if its windy you are gonna shoot like a grandma holding a cannon, its just that bad.

now longer barrels are supposed to make it shoot "straight" for a longer distance, well too long and then you have inertia (Sp) to mess with, now what you can do, to improve your accuracy is when you find that person on the field thats in your lane, take a few shots and see where it lands, then adjust accordingly.

(WARNING: paint has the worst accuracy because its a .689 round projectile with liquid inside of it to increase mass, so work on accuracy skills Barrels add length and other things depending on the brand.)

Yes, consistency is one of the biggest factors in accuracy. Think about it, if your first ball goes 265 then your next one geos 285, then you accuracy is suffering because they land in two different spots. We had a huge discusion on this on PBN and consistency in your air supply is huge. If your balls arnt consistently going into teh same spot tehn you are inaccurate.

Accuracy is not just paint to barrel match, as a matter o fact, paint to barrel match is more about optomizing efficiancy, although it deos help accuracy. The way the air hits it to effects accuracy and so does the condition of your ball detents. If one detent is stronger than the other, it produces spin on the ball because one side is going to start pushing past the detent first creating spin. Smoothness of the barrel is hug etoo because friction is a no no.

Weather conditions can be taken out of alot with a carbon fiber barrel, tehy dont change under the conditions we get here in earth. Yes wind deos effect it and cold will effect how easily the balls break.

Alot of times accuracy is affected because of the substance of the ball, like siad before. The outer shell will spin faster than the liquid (or try too) thats why heavier balls fly straighter because the inside is more solid and has more mass which equals it out more to the outside.

I suppose you're correct, but if one is getting +/- 20 then something is surely wrong. Hell, on my old ion with its stock reg I got +/- 7.
