Leaking Ion

I had my 360 qev put it my ion about 6 months ago and everything has been fine. Until now, my ion hasnt had a problem. On Saturday my ion was acting as if the battery was dyin. I wasn't hearing my marker fire like it normally does, it sounded kinda muffled and the balls would only come halfway out the barrel. Then the next shot would comeout fine, but every other shot would be kinda a short shot. I changed the battery twice and it only did the same thing. Now i took my ion apart to clean it out and i put it back together just fine. Only when i aired it up i heard a leak from the gun. I unscrewed the gun and had the top half separated from the bottom half, and aired it up again. Then i searched for the source of the leak. THe air was coming out of the top part of my QEV were it is screwed into the top half. I looked at the QEV off the gun and everything looks fine so if you could help me i would very much appreciate it. Sorry for writing so much i just wanted to make everything clear.

the most likeley solution is to put a small piece of teflon tape around the threads of your QEV before you screw it back into your gun. This will keep the seal tight in the threads, and keep your qev from being jarred loose, or leaking air.

I was having a small leak in the QEV that wasn't affecting performance, and a small bit of teflon tape fixed it.

You can get a huge roll of it that will last a lifetime from any home depot, lowes, and probably even wal mart.

But the part thats leaking has a small black o-ring near the screwand the oring looks fine. Ill add some teflon and see if that fixes it.

dissassemble and then reassemble your ions noid...

put tefflon tape around your qev and dont screw it in more than it needs.

lube everything...

the ion is an amazing marker but they seem to be soo touchy and picky... they're like girls on the rag - even if you're perfect to them you're still going to hear it every once in a while...

if none of that works - listen to where the leak is coming from - tell us it's exact location (i know you said the qev, but just tell us again after you do this...)

a lot changes depending on where you hear the leak, if it sounds like its coming from the barrel or neck you should check the reg etc... grip and frame, check the noid etc...

...asa leak, check the macro and the tank... you get what i'm saying right?

If you still have the problem after doing what Brockocoli & demonpoptart you may need to adjust your dwell to get you Ion working again.

The reason for this is I have had the rubber/plastic flap in the QEV stiffen/harden. This causes the QEV to not work as well as when it was new.

if you're not comfortable handling the most advanced parts in your ion, like the noid, then that should be the last thing you do, too.
