Should I get the Ion?
well i only play rec ball usually every couple weekends, but i'm really considering getting a new gun, because i have the Rex R2. its ok, but not a single local expert can help me with any problems with it because NOBODY has ever even heard of it... and its too loud and heavy for me... soo ive been looking into the Ion. i think its pretty nice, but i heard it has a good amount of problems with it? i havent witnessed any myself but ive heard stories.
also:
1) should i get the J&J Ceramic 14"? like does anyone reccomend it? cause i heard that the stock barrel (like most stocks) is real bad.
2) is the body kit hard to install? cause i want to get it in yellow, but it costs $25 more than the Jet Black online. so i could just get black then buy a $10 yellow body kit and install it (just to save $15 ) but i heard the Ion is tricky to take apart...
and 3) i heard the trigger magnet is crazy strong and most people get a new trigger. well im on a tight budget so does anyone dislike the magnet and know how to remove it instead of spending money on an entirely new trigger?
thanks.

I have an ion and, yes i like it and, yes there are SOME problems with it. I like my ion because its lite, somewhat quiet, and VERY upgradeable. *I believe up to an epiphanie's performance* Some of the problems when you get the ion is, leakage in multiple places, may not have a certain 0-ring, velocity is set 380+ so it takes a while to get it down. These problems are EASY to fix!!!!!
If you do decide to get the ion, don't give up on it when you encounter a problem, go talk to your local feild and ask them for help.
There is one things that you should do if you get the ion, 1) dont mess with the DWELL SETTING in the board because you WILL mess up your gun.
BTW dont let ANYBODY tell you the gun is gay or a POS its a great gun and even though its made of plastic outer shell, its a hard enough plastic to withstand some hardcore conditons ans you can always buy a new one IF if breaks/cracks. Also, the ion is a bit tricky to take apart, just take the time to know your gun....like when you take the time to take a dump....sorry

Dwell is a very easy thing to adjust man, and if you go too low or too high, you can always adjust it back.
Why would they make it adjustable if it could seriously damage your gun?

I recently bought an Ion as my first paintball gun and I put the red body kit on in like 15-20 minutes. It also gave me a better understanding of the gun. The only thing that went wrong was the i broke a screw that holds down the a tube ( I think it's like the macro line or something) cause i screwed it in too tight. So if you decide to put the kit on yourself be careful not to screw the screws in too tight because they are hollow and will break. Also, you should use a video on youtube to help you.

i dont think it would be a BAD choice for you, but you may want to look around a bit more before setteling on the ion, proto PMR is also a great choice in the same price range
in stock trim the ion is one of the worst designs to work on, you can get to the eyes before the bolt, the stock trigger is, well i cant really think how to put this cuz bad just doesnt seem to fit right. the J&J is probably the best bang for the buck on the market right now (also heard good things about a CP ceramic barrel but havnt been able to try one out yet) so take your time, do your reasearch and if its gunna take you an extra month to get the money for marker X and you think it will be a better choice than marker Y that you have enoufgh money for right now, just wait and save the money

I know that the dwell is RE-adjustable, but if you DON'T know what your doing, you can get F-ED in da A with no vasaline
